I would like to have an option to bypass sever's locales, as there are no two locales for Serbian (latin and cyrillic), and even further, they must be unicode. I've spent too much time translating elxis to both versions to let latin version go...

Password Reminder in Elxis 2007 Vampire

Another great feature would be a
Password Reminder
or a capability to
Reset your Password
and im speeking about the Administration area.
I like the way, Kayako gives you the possibility to retrieve/reset your lost password. If you dont know it, i can explain the steps.

I think that all of us forgot one important feature... XHTML compilant HTML rendering. As I try to keep my templates XHTML and CSS valid, with cross-browser support, I would like to express that fact by displaying valid XHTML and CSS links on my pages, but currently I cannot do so due to Elxis HTML rendering.

Everything that we modify for the needs of 2007 we also make it XHTML compliant. We do not change a file if there is no other reason because it will be too difficult for users to update too many files during an 2006.4 to 2007 update.
We also eliminate CSS or javascript (if any) errors.
An other invisible work that we do is reducing the unused space (like empty lines, tabs etc) inside the php pages. This leads to reducing Elxis size without removing anything.
So, this:
<td>
test
</td>
becomes:
<td>test</td>
XHTML compliant example:
this:
<input type="text" ....>
becomes this:
<input type="text" ... />

I'd like to put some scarce wishes here:
1) Implementation of Session Counter (reverse) with a reset button/image whatever you like, the reset function is obvious i think
, this must be applicable in the admin area (which is global for every action conducted in the backend) and at the frontend while the user is logged in and especially when the user writes an article, how many times have you forgotten to press save or apply after typing more than the allowed session time? I've done this countless times (but i was taking a copy before pressing anything like save or apply...) however forgetting is a great issue...
2) More AJAX technology wherever it applies backend/frontend, I would like to see the lists being implemented in ajax (backend) especially sorting/filtering/selecting langs etc in the sorted lists, please give AJAX to the world
3) EXIF support for the stargallery ,EXIF are metadata for the pictures that are stored in every .jpg or .raw file and have numerous parameters from the snapshot environment/light/focus etc and can be used for optimizing the files, also EXIF is used from professionals in order to fine tune their cameras and fine tune the printing of photos. A subfeature of stargallery related to EXIF is to keep the metadata even after resizing the photo (non-destructive resizing). I believe that all these are dependent from the Image processing library used but the most respected should be adequate of handling this info.
4) Database migration tools in order to smoothly transition from Mambo/Joomla to Elxis, population of extra mandatory fields that didn't exist in Mambo/Joomla should be displayed as a list with dropdowns or type fields in order to be populated (at the migration procedure).
for the moment.....

1)I would like to add in the wish list the "copy paste" to the autonomous pages.. (make multiple copies of one autonomous page through admin panel)
2)What about a SEO futured with the ability to change manual the name of the url addresses??
That's all from me.

I have spoken with eliasan about a mambot (RSS grabber).
The abilities which I have spoken eliasan about, are missing from all the other CMS, open source & commercial.
I have sent the basic version of this mambot to eliasan, as well as my suggestion about what could be develop to make this mambot unique. The mambot could be standard with Elxis or it could be an extra mambot (open source or commercial).
FTP tool, with browsing capability to view my folders.

Thanks Sirigos for sharing your thoughts with us.
RSS grabber: The whole XML/RSS feature is problematic due to domit problems with utf-8 (ask BlackStar for this). Nothing new will be imported to Elxis until the RSS issue is solved.
File browser (FTP enabled) already exists in the File Server component. By unlocking the initial path you can manage all the sites files (even if they do not belong in Elxis). See attached screenshot.
There is a central list of Elxis installations available in Elxis Team members. We use it for solving users problems (each entry contains information for each Elxis site enviroment) and for statistically reasons. What exactly you want by having such a personal central list?
All the others you mentioned are quite risky regarding security. I had myself also thought in the past a tool that would allow Elxis sites to contact with each other in real time or leave messages (mostly for communication with the mother site - elxis.org). It is easy to implement but I gave it up for security reasons and because we finally don't need it
SSH: Use an SSH manager such as Putty, anything else is insecure.
Keep in mind that everything that has to do with remote access attracts hackers and if this access has also to do with files the security risk increases.
Note: Elxis already has all the needed tools to help you make your own tools/components for remote access via FTP. It is a matter of how you, use the provided tools.
Keep saying your proposals. It is very interesting for us.

Hallo everybody.... It just crossed my mind... Are there some ideas on something like joomlaboard? I mean, it would really round up Elxis and give it some advantage regarding the "competition". I would, personally go for SMF, but lots of users don't want to deal with bridges, etc.

At this time we are focusing on developement the main CMS and we can not deal with third party software. There will be many pleasant surpises in the new Elxis version. Anyone who wishes to make compatible joomlaboard with Elxis will have our help.

Datahell, thank you for your answer.
Considering the RSS, I will contact BlackStar and I will ask him if I can support this issue.
About the FTP I only have to say it is a commercial component and I don’t know how many users have already bought it. The reason I said it is that it will make a difference, and that it is useful for the Elxis users.
Regarding the security reasons you have set, I feel that the Elxis developer team, always do the best, and the Defender of Elxis among other things proves it.
What I was thinking could be created was something like the WHM from the Cpanel Company.
Personal list of installations and some information that the user will need.
1. Welcome Page (central control panel)
2. List of my Elxis Installations
3. Setup new Elxis ( to local server or remote). With this we can use the HI-speed lines of the servers to transfer the Elxis files in a minute. It will require to enter username & password to access the local or remote FTP.
4. Add an already existing Elxis installation (simply some data, not an installation procedure)
5. Separate details for my Elxis installations, such as date of installation, cost for me, cost for my customer, username & password for admin and many others.
And it would be perfect if an owner of many Elxis had the ability to use only his Elxis tools to debug or add something to his website, instead of having to buy extra software.
Many users will consider using Elxis tools, because we are often away from our computer, where we have our various information for our Elxis websites & software to solve problems or to add something to our Elxis websites (FTP, SSH, PHP Editor’s, and other tools…).
I understand that all I have described isn’t easy to create but it will make one more huge difference from all the other CMS (open source & commercial), and Elxis will be a leader way ahead of the others.
And about your note, is there any user manual about the capabilities of the tools & components?
Many users are only starting now with Elxis and they have a thousand questions because Elxis is so different from any other CMS. Yes, we have the Book of Elxis, but something separate for each Elxis tool would be great if it was free of charge.
Elxis FAN.
