php T_STRING Error

Installing on my EasyPHP it runs but.. on my server gives me this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/levmaco/public_html/elxis/includes/sef.php on line 1

what that means??

Replace the sef.php file from the incudes folder with the following

downloaded sef.zip from link you gave me
installed notepad++
opened new sef.php in notepad++
on menu "format" selected Ansi and checked UTF-8 without BOM
saved
uploaded via ftp BINARY MODE

now it's all ok

You didn't have to do all of this, you just have to replace the file! (only to upload the file).
I did all the previous steps for you, and for all the members with the same problem.
