Elxis and Wikipedia

It was through Wikipedia (English pages) that I got to know Elxis (List of CMSs). Yet, it appears that the Elxis page at Wikipedia - English has been deleted by editors (as a result of some discussions which I find hard to follow) and I could not find a page for Elxis on Spanish, French, Greek and German sides either.

I intend to form an Elxis page on the Turkish side of Wikipedia so that - who knows - some more users can be informed about this script. I also invite users of other languages to do the same.

Thank you for informing us.  I originally created the page on wikipedia and even though I thought that I had settled all of the problems with wikipedia, it appears that their editors are much more difficult these days.

I will look for the backup file that I created to reinstate the entry and let you know.

You are welcome.  In the meantime, can you - or anyone else - send me a snapshot of the opening page of Elxis: Nautilus (225 px width and 300 px length) for upload to Wikipedia: Turkish page? As I have already created plenty of articles, I cannot obtain this from my web site and I am too lazy to reinstall Elxis: Nautilus locally. Thanks in advance.

I completed the page for Elxis (http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elxis_CMS). If you create a similar page for your language, do not forget to announce it here so that we can add links. Also, you should add following lines to the bottom of the wiki page you create:

Please make a major change regarding the license. Elxis CMS 4.x is currently released under the Elxis Public license.

Some other corrections
- Elxis development team don't make a use of either Dreamweaver or Zend studio PHP editor. We use PSPAD.
- Elxis has its own MVC. So MVC: elxis.
- We don't use smarty php template engine.
- The available document types are: HTML5, XTML5, XHTML 1.0 transitional and XHTML 1.0 strict.

I made the correction regarding the license issue. Yet, I cannot make any chances or additions about other issues because they do not belong to the article itself. The box titled "Web Teknolojileri" is a part of the page template and it includes all available links for web technologies. Apparently, no-one has added a page titled PSPAD or MVC: elxis yet.

At the moment I am having a battle with wikipedia editors.

When I created the content for Elxis CMS, I also compared the wiki layout used by another cms.
Now wiki is saying that because they cannot find references to elxis justifying its inclusion, this is the reason why they have deleted it.  They previously wanted to delete it because they considered it as advertising but I managed to stop them simply by saying that Elxis is free software.

Is there a way to prove how many websites use elxis? e.g. a special google search parameter

I have included some of the websites that have written about elxis but apparently they are looking for articles in magazines or books, etc. as well.

There has been a discussion on the net about their editors recently regarding their professionalism and the wikipedia program.  Now I know why I am starting to really become annoyed with them.

I'm still trying but from looking at the editors profiles, they are web creators too, and I am suspicious about the entire situation.

If they do not allow it to be published, then I will send an email to the organization filing a complaint.

At the moment, I am updating the backup that I saved.

It used to be free for anyone to add an article to Wikipedia. However, as of 2010, an expanded team of editors is responsible for adding and deleting articles due to intensive spamming. One criterion for any software or script to be included in the encyclopedia is that there should be references. In other words, "noticeability" counts. Sadly, there appear to be no books, articles or scholarly work related with Elxis, as a result of which it is not considered a script that deserves to find itself a place in Wikipedia. I doubt you will get an affirmative reply to your request.

When the front door is closed, try the chimney. If users of different languages add Elxis to Wikis in their native language - it still free to add articles in other languages - this will be an incentive for Elxis staff to support their view against that of Wikipedia editors. And, in any way, who cares whether Wikipedia: English has an article about Elxis when you can read all about it in your own language?
