Elxis Nautilus is NOT compatible to Elxis 2009.x neither to its extensions. The code is totally different.
Each multi-site has its own database. Each multi-site has its own media files (images/video/audio).Each multi-site has its own global configuration. Each multi-site has its own users, user groups, access permissions, etc. Each extension on a multi-site has its own settings. The only thing multi-sites share is the Elxis file system (core and extensions as files). Even if sub-sites are isolated they share the same file system with the mother site, so the administrator of the mother site should trust the administrators of the sub-sites. Multi-sites designed to provide solutions for sites that need a second, or even third site, for their own use but for a different task (eg a separated forum or a separated e-shop). Large sites and organizations have often such needs.Multisites requires a simple rule in the htaccess file. You can do this from your hosting control panel or by editing directly Elxis htaccess file.
I am currently not using Elxis as the system for their website. Due to I knew about Elxis only a few weeks ago and these organizations have existed before I volunteered. But, I hope to transfer their sites to Elxis system soon.
