Changing the domain name on the same server...

Hi,
I'm changing the domain name on the same server of a site. What changes do I have to make so that elxis works fine?
I guess it will cause problems right?
FTP settings, links etc...

No problems will be caused
If your new domain name directs to the same server then you should modify your configuration.php file only. The absolute path would be the same as before so you have to change the $mosConfig_live_site variable. Verify the other variables that have set correctly and you are ready to use it.

What I've done so far:

removed the alias domain
renamed the hosting domain
added the alias domain
edited the $mosConfig_live_site variable in config.

it might take some time I geuss to work. Wouldn't this change the ftp etc. if I change the name of the hosting domain?

The question is: Did you change also the Username for that Hosting account? If yes, take care of that change.

Changes may be needed in your database!

with the changes I made, all seems to work fine.
I did not change user names.
I just renamed the domain name in the control panel and placed the old name as an alias.

I had two domains: www.kipreosrentals.gr and www.kalymnosrentals.gr (alias)

renamed kipreosrentals.gr to kalymnosrentals.gr and made kipreosrentals.gr an alias

The ftp and all is the same. I still logon to ftp via ftp.kipreosrentals.gr which was the initial domain name.
