Elxis Does Not Recognize Installed PostgreSQL

I use postgres (and have for more than a dozen years) and want to use it with Elxis. However, when I see the pre-installation check page that option is not shown as available (in green).

I'm not going to activate and learn MySQL for this one application. What do I need to do to make /usr/bin/postgres visible to Elxis?

Is the postgre extension loaded in php?
Check your php.ini for the loaded extensions. Uncomment postgres if it is commented. Then restart apache.
