Hello to all

I couldn't locate an off-topic forum thread, so I'm posting here.

In evaluating CMSes, I have the following requirements: CMS selection criteria

Small CMSes may be attractive in the beginning, but users start bumping into limitations down the road.

List of other rejected CMSes. This list also contains specific notes on this CMS and what I noted the problems to be.

I would love to hear feedback on the selection criteria.

LoL!!! Are you kidding us 

You evaluate CMSs and there is no criteria about quality of code and mostly SECURITY?? Are you going to recommend a CMS that "may be installed in any directory", but is leaky like a strainer and provide no security at all and is easy to hack ?? Propably you do not know how to program or you are just bored to dig into code and evaluate sacerity. Either way your evaluation is bad...

That had me rolling on the floor! Joomla is a fork of Mambo started in 2005, not vice versa... I wonder how thorough your search was.

I don't care how you evaluate things.. Do as you please, but state on your page that the evaluation reflects ONLY your personal opinion and do have in the same page criteria and results; otherway it is misleading for your readers!!

Το evaluate CMSes it's difficult process.
You must check a lot of parameters to do it so.

Quality of Code ( Number 1 for me) , Security ( also Number 1) , SEO techniques  ( also Number 1), Support , community resources.!

Before Elxis i used many CMS like joomla , drupal , wordpress.!
Elxis impressed me so much that i don't change it with anyone.

To answer questions - Joomla is a fork of Mambo. Even though it is, I picked to look at joomla instead. But I do hate forks.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm a single guy doing this for free. You want me to evaluate security of code for a hundred CMSes? I picked other easier things to evaluate by. BTW, the size of the "security" forum is a good indication whether code is secure or not.

Support and community resources is a part of criteria.

As far as giving a CMS good evaluation, that's up to developer, not me. It's their job. I'm just eliminating a few choices for them.

But what can i do to choice a cms with full support team and with a lot members on their community when it's source code has serious security and functionality issues ?

Yes, I turned notifications on.

Regarding security - there's one of the largest CMSes with a huge security related forum. I won't name names. That's up to a smart developer.

Elxis Team and especially Datahell has developed a component for elxis cms which called it : eForum

Unfortunately we can't change this smf version of forum because a lot of questions has been answered here.

What do you disagree about? I don't get it.

Security problem - one of the big CMSes (WP, Drupal, Joomla), I won't tell you which, is so unsecure they have a large forum just for security issues. Even though absolutely every reviewer and developer would think those three are the only CMSes you'll ever need.

I disagree with the criteria of choosing or analyzing one CMS. 

Government sites , big e-shop sites etc with a lot of visitors each month  use elxis!
Each developer has his own e-mail that somebody can communicate with him if there is a security or whatever issue.

I don't believe that if one cms has a section on his community forum called "security" then the summary is that this CMS is secure!
Otherwise i believe that on one forum which has no mentions about security, then this CMS is at least more secure than the other above.

Large security flaws related forum = means that IT IS NOT secure.

Let me guess.... Its Drupal. Lets not mention only the super duper features, but also major problems, that someone might face.

Ok. I misunderstood that.! 
It's a major thing for me to know that one CMS developed by one or maximum 2 developers and not by hundred.
The other big section is SEO and Google for me.!
