HELP!!!!! Having issues with Elxis

Greetings

I am experiencing some issue I am having with elxis and can't seem to get them resolved.

Here are the issues:

- images are not loading correctly or not at all
- some content being written will not publish properly and sit in "pending" status causing a lot of 404 errors
- when navigating to the main page it displays "The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu."
- in the administrator side of the site the media manager will not allow me to change permissions on images. I have noticed that the default images are all chmod 664 but anything I upload is chmod 600 and wont show even if I change this variable from my own server end it still goes back to 600

also where in gods name to I find any elxis "how to" manuals

Also. I have other site templates I have made but want to use elxis to run the site, does anyone know how to incorporate an html site into elxis so that the theme of the site I made is not over ridden by elxis

oh I forgot one other thing, I am using the openmind template as my new default , would this cause issues?

1st please let us know in what environment you are running the elxis.
2nd do you use the latest version of Elxis CMS ?

-> check the Global Configuration data

-> upgrade to latest Elxis version OR check the time offset from the Global Configuration

- when navigating to the main page it displays "The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu."
-> the problem will be solved from the time offset ether from the SEO configuration (do you have enabled the SEO PRO ?)

all that issues that you mentioned in above posts is not not elxis issues... also i can they are not issues at all...
but... only your inexperience   causing all this....

1- images not showing ... and chmod 600 is one problem caused probably by your server's config or your ftp-client...
chmod 644... this mean  that is readable by any one...

2-pending status  is not causing that 404 error...
 check seo-pro and .htaccess, most likely that you haven't modify or enable them correctly

3- enable ftp-manager in  elxis confing... also enable  from elxis config the option to allow elxis chmod files correctly, if your server don't do it in the proper way.

5- i think is really very soon to start developing a template for elxis... as i can understand from your post above you have many to learn before start to build a tpl....
when you are ready ... ask again.... we will help you at any time.!

actually this means that he didn't published any content in frontpage..
must publish at least one content-item in frontpage... not autonomous page

First of all...

Yes I do have something published for the front page. but it still displays the error.

Also I am using the latest elxis software (downloaded the whole thing 1 week ago and made the updates)

as for the server part I have the global config variable set as "Dont CHMOD new files (use server defaults)"

do you have enter correct & do you enable the FTP again from the Global Configuration - > Yes the ftp information is enter correctly

I guess the BIG issue is mainly getting the images to load and the content to publish

seo pro can fix this... enable it

the chmod option is for servers that don't chmod as we need files and folders..
is your server chmod folder/files  755/644 ? if not enable tha option.


media manager or any other component needs elxis-ftp-manager  enabled in global-config...in order to chmod files
if you say that is enabled please check path.
have in mind that some times absolute path needed n order to work...

a simple check to see if ftp works is:
when editing template css or html(elxis admin) in top of code editing text-area appears a check-box to make css or index.php  file writable or non writable after saving.... if not appears then ftp is not working...  check user-pass-path

no issue at all...
we haven't see any issue so far in this areas...

something that you missing only...that all.

I got the images working fine now.

But I am still having issues in creating content and the system setting them to pending and not pulishing and I ams till getting that stupid 404 error

Actuall I am experimenting doing both.

When accessing the front end and creating content, it will not publish without errors. When adding the content from the back end (admin area) it has the same issue

you have enabled seo.. is that right?

do you modified htaccess.txt  properly ?
