Hi, i'm new with Elxis and have Q.

I can't find a Download System. Am I blind or have I missed something in the installation.

Is there a module somwhere? Have been looking at http://www.elxis-downloads.com/ but the Category has (0)

I am sorry there is no download system available.
There is the File Server component but it is for elxis.org usage only.

found a dl system 

eihter I can stay with e107 or I can use Olate Download

think I will stay with e107's DL System. Meaning NO reg on Elxis CMS. hmmm crap

Hi and welcome !!
I'm new and I'm facing your same problem.
I solved it that way:
You have to use 2008.0, in that way you can install docman for ELXIS2006.4 . It will work without problem. Is not raccomandable since it is wrote for the First generation of ELXIS but anyway this is a rapid solution that will add to ELXIS 2008.0 the missed function that is not ELXIS related.

If you are planning to use ELXIS 2008.1 ...sorry I don't have any solution at the moment. Anyway I know that some great guys/developer are organizing themself for porting Docman and lastest news that I got yesterday night that a Lightweight download manager will come out by the end of this year.

Moreover I've build for myslef a tweaked version of ELXIS 2008.0 with tinymce3 present in ELXIS 2008.1. I know that this will bore someone but I have this "MIX" since the tinimce 2008.0 has some bug that prevent image padding and since I absolutely need a DM.
Since I can't use 2008.1 because the loose of a DL manager I've build it for myself and currently this "tweacked version" are runing on 3 sites without problem.

PS. ELXIS is far way powerfull then E107 !!! sorry but I used E107 too and a lot of other CMS choosing ELXIS !! Don't go away mate .. don't go away  !!

John , Which changes in Elxis 2008.1 made Docman incompatible ? If you know tell me , I want to compatible DOCMAN with Elxis 2008.1

Docman for Elxis is compatible with Elxis 2006.x, I never said that it is compatible to 2008.0.
Even if you don't see visible errors and warnings this does not mean that it is compatible to 2008.x.
