give me a break.. incorrect username,password!!!

Ok after going through all the previous problems i finaly get it installed and then cant even login to the admin in the backend because "i have the wrong user name and password"   i have searched and read all the other post and none of them are even continued let alone solved. nor do they provide any solution. so really whats the deal ??

no, the username and password is correct. i just created it during the installation for christs sake and now it tells me its incorrect when i try to login through the back end.   i searched the post and seen other people with the same problem and people reply with things to help and none of them work and it just ends there.  and as far as i can see none of them has been solved.

ok whatever im over it now, im switching back to Joomla. ive never ever had this much trouble out of a CMS.  sucks because Elxis looked and had the feel that i wanted but i have got too much on the line to have problems like this straight out of the installation and afterwards and there just doesnt seem to be much help documentation either.   pls do leave a reply if you ever figure out the problem.

Have you read this:   https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=1882.0    check datahell's replies.

- Has your configuration.php file the correct encoding (utf-8) ?  Double check it.
- Double check any files you have edit manualy. Did you save them with the correct encoding
- Prefer using Mozilla Firefox for the backend.

Lastly, i did a quick search in this forum and i have read that even "zonealarm" was suspect for similar problems as yours.

babygurl the problems you are facing its not Elxis bugs but your misunderstandings.

Fist you add the mysql path in the field "database path"! It is very clear in Elxis installation that this field is only for databases like MSAccess and firebird that use files as database (i.e.: access.mdb, firebird.fdb, etc) not for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MsSQL etc. This field does not exist in Joomla because joomla can not connect to other databases except mysql.

Secondary you can not login in the backend. I am sure that again you have not done something correctly. What password are you using? The right one is the one you type on the user data page. Don't use mysql's or ftp's password! The username is "admin". Install Elxis again on the same database, check "drop existing tables" and take attention on the password you give to user admin.

I have installed more than 100 times Elxis CMS under very different environments and operating systems and I had never such problems. The installation procedure is fast and easy. If you don't understand something read the help or post here a question.
