I need to post this.

Thanks to the creators of Elxis, to all the people that have supported me in this forum, and of course to all the Gnu/Linux community.

I don't remeber how I found Mambo, but in mambos's forum I read a post  [I don't rememeber who wrote it] that mentioned Elxis. I was hooked up instantly.

The first version of Elxis I saw, was not very appealing, at least for the most of the users, but the feeling I got was just great.

A friend of mine decided to use mambo, I choose Elxis. And I do not regret it, I tried also mambo & joomla but they lack a soul. And of course joomla in my opinion is TOO similar to Microsoft mentality..... There are people that thinks that Elxis is a fork of Joomla O_o , in my opinion, Joomla is too commercial oriented, with too many weasels,  too far from what I belive internet is really for:
a mean to share informations, a place where you will find people that will help you,  without  expecting something back from you.

This is what I found here, a dream, a soul, a community where people interacts and help you, also if you have just 2 posts.

I remember a post, where we [we = elxis community] wondered if the upgrade to Oimpus would be free. Eliasan [or was DataHell? (I am not searching for the post, I write just the info that my brain is willing to send to my fingers at this time of the night, give me a break)   : ) ] replied that he was not sure if it was going to be free,  mainly because they did [and are] investing a lot in Elxis. But the answer I read was clear, anybody could undestood that they want to deliver the script and all what they could afford to be free. [personal opinion, just like this all thread]

When I read that we might have to pay for the script to upgrade Elxis, I was a little bit sad, but I totally undestood the reasons.
I was a little sad, mainly because I was in a really bad moment [financially speaking] and I mean really bad.

The upgrade script is available for free now, for most of the people a few euros are not much, but for others is a lot. I belive that relasing this script for free was a great decision. I am greatful for this.

So.... , I read a post that talked about Elxis and....
...it took me about 2 minutes to decide that I needed to stick with Elxis.
 (in case you wonder, after I discovered Elxis I started to use as many cms as I could, but none beat this one [of course if you thinks that vista is the best OS you might find difficult to accept this] I don't want to say is the best one available [I did not test all the cms] but is the one that have the best community even if I don't post a lot here I enjoy reading this forum.

 
Why Elxis? 
Hard to explain my feelings and sensations in writing [remember I am not native english (would be hard even in my native language) ] but I'll do my best!

Simple,
I did not have good feelings about mambo, I felt like no leaders were there, I did not felt any real dreams in their forums...
[remember: I learnt about elxis in their forum, if not even the mods read the posts, do you really thinks the developers will show up?].
I learned about Joomla only after I discovered Elxis [I discovered Elxis the same day I learnt about Mambo]. The guy who showed me Joomla did not gave me any reasons why Joomla should be a better choice.

Let's forget for a second about my very good and nice fellings about Elxis,
I used mine rational part of the brain [pretending that mine instinct does not exist] and what I realized was that Elxis is more future oriented, he is a a real multilungual CMS.... Internet is meant for sharing infos with everybody, you need to develope something that can be used in multiples languages [*note: read the title of the thread again.... you might get why I feel to say I am sorry].

What did my rational part tell me? That Elxis was the way to go... [I have to admit that the decision of sticking with Elxis was made mainly with the heart, I don't actually use the rational part a lot : P ]

What do I think about Joomla? Keep Reading:

I always thought that Joomla resembles  Windows, or Red Hat philosophy..... they don't want to deliver good products, crap is enough since most of the people know nothing. [watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley" if you don't like to read]

These softwares are way too much commercial oriented in my opinion, Red Hat is not even considered  gnu/linux  anymore, they crossed the border years ago, using the ignorance of the people to make money and abuse the freedom that the gnu licence grants to all of us!!!!  [have you ever read the EULA licence with witch you agree when using windows? Read it and then read the gnu license, you'll get the difference]. 

In my opinion they want to recreate what have already been done in the past [and everybody condemned it], put people in a slavery system. (read the windows licence you will undestand this phrase better)
[ note for the Newbies: Torvalds created Linux [ the kernel] Richard Stallman is the creator of  GNU [ the meaning of gnu = GNU is Not Unix. Or should I write that GNU have always been in the air and nobody have created it?

Why did I post this thread?

I was going to send a PM to thanks the creators of Elxis and to all the guys that helped me, [search my posts you'll find them],
but, I choose to write where everybody can read this.

Why? Internet is meant for sharing, I want to share my gratitude with all of you.
And..... it's a late reply to all the lazy asses that come here, ask for help and then go away looking for another CMS that can deliver a crappy version of what they need, kind of windows style.  [Achtung: they could be even worst people]

Tell me the truth you forgot, that I need to be sorry for something, didn't you?
I did not!

After I read that Eliasan wrote that ThePrincy needed help to translate the back end, I pm'ed ThePrincy.... but the timing was not right, he answered me at the worst possible time for me [he couldn't know it of course]


To make a long [and boring] story short:  There is no italian translation yet for the back end [I did a part but I didn't finished it].
I will do it in not more than 10 days, I still need to deliver 2 websites first [as I told you before even paying 10 euros for an upgrade script would have been hard for me] so I am sorry, but I had to think just about myself, and I couldn't help this community.

Anyway, if you are reading this I guess you don't care about an italian translation, but trust me when I say I have felt bad not translating that. Now that I can I will donate something to Elxis [don't expect millions or thosand of Euros] but a drop of water can split a mountan  <---- that means that if you think that the Elxis project lives of fresh air, you should meet me in Utopia tomorrow.

P.s. there is an error in the Italian Installation script, in the top right botton is written [aventi] it is spelled AVANTI . I love the italian way...!!! Who cares!!!
Serious Mode ON: the italian elxis community is small [there is one? Don't think so] but I will do my best to correct all the tiny errors that might be present.

So... this is why I am sorry, I did not contribute enought to this community. Of course nobody force me, but I really want to help this project. And I will!!!

Did I said 10 days? Ehm..... I meant 10 years for the translation [but is going to be free] 
I am just kidding, I wrote 10 days, and'll do my best to finish it, also if nobody need it now.
