[solved] Banner component "malfunction"

Προσεξα οτι οταν συμπληρωθουν τα impressions ενος banner αυτο εξαφανιζεται απο τη λιστα των banners στο administration. Δεν θα ηταν πιο σωστο να παραμενει και να γινεται un-published η να γινεται το display "no" ?

Ετσι, αν "αγορασει" καποιος κι αλλα impressions δεν θα χρειαζεται ο admin να ξαναστησει το banner απο την αρχη.

I noticed that when the impressions for a banner are used-up, the banner disapperas from the banners list in the Banners' Administration page. I think it would be better to ust "un-publish" or turn off the banner so that an admin can more easily reinstate it when new impressions are purchased by the client.

I had n't paid attention to that feature before. Finally it was not a bug but the standard procedure from the "Mambo days". When a banner reached the impressions number set by the administration it was deleting from the #__banners table (that's why you did n't see it anymore) and added in a (dead) table named #__bannerfinish. You have no access to tht table from the administration, only from phpmyadmin. So, there was no way to restore that banner. This was silly.

We changed how component banner (and module banners) handles expired banners. If a banner reaches it's impressions number it is just get unpublished. You are not allowed to publish it again unless you add to it more impressions (or make impressions unlimited). Table #__bannerfinish is useless now but we will left it in the database for compatibility reasons. I think this is a more natural way of use. We also add the ability to see each banner's client and filter banners by client in the banners list in administration panel. This is useful for sites with lots of banners and clients.

Changes will be available in Elxis version 2006.4.
