Suckerfish Menu (2-level)
«

First of all, i would like to congatulate for your great job in this forum! I would like to build a 2 level menu with Suckerfish Menu similar to
http://www.sprv.org.rs/
.
Unfortunately, i have built only the first part (1-level) and i want to build the submenus inside some menu items. Is it a way to do it or i have to write code and play with CSS.
The first part was easy
module style (horizontal) and module position (top)
When i want to insert a new submenu it mentions parent (4) and child (4) (the number 4 is accidental, so do not be mistaken). They are in the same level and the child can not be displayed, i see only the parent of menu.
Additionally i want to change the bar of my browser to purple color or some other color as in the Web site above
http://www.sprv.org.rs/
. Is it a way to achieve that? This site have given me a lot of new ideas!
Kind Regards

If you want to do this for Elxis 4.x you don't need any special menu module as Elxis automatically generates multi-level suckerfish style menus. Just edit your template's css to change colours...

There is a suckerfish menu module for Elxis 2009.x. Check elxis-downloads.com site

i have used it and i have the above problem mentioned otherwise i would not mention the Web site
http://www.sprv.org.rs/(sometimes
users and administrators ... do not understand each other)
http://www.elxis-downloads.com/downloads/menus/3.html
additionally there is not any setting for image display ds_menu (forgive me if i do not remember the exact name of module) as with Elxis classical menu module mod_mainmenu! But my main problem is with children and by the way i want to ask with images??? I read all posts with Suckerfish menu but no one answers my problem.
thanks

Hi asimako,
I have created DSMenu module, and I have created that module for the very site you mention (sprv.org.rs) when I was webmaster of that site. Talk about the small world!
Anyway, I am not sure I understood the problem. If you have chosen parent items properly it should work, no need for any additional CSS work. If you can provide live link, it would be more illustrative description of the problem. Also, maybe you could communicate your issue better in serbian, then you can switch to our local subforum.

Unfortunately i am not a serbian and i would like to ask you some other issues conserning my Web site. I am sure you will have the answers?
thanks for your reply

You sent images to my gmail? If so, I haven't received them.
I advise you strongly to make your site using new Elxis (4.1). There is even converter for transferring content from Elxis 2009.x to Elxis 4.1.

No sorry! I sent you my gmail address today morning! Besides i have posted the photos
http://tinypic.com/4dulmmia
(6). The first one is the module parameters (as you know, no image setting but i do not mind this issue) and the next ones are the steps that i do to make a submenu.
I show you the parent menu and afterwards the actions to build a child menu!
I need a complete guide and detailed to use Elxis 4.1 (as the administration menus are different), will you send you one? The modules and components for 2009x are compatible with Elxis 4 because there are many?
thanks

You can find documentation regarding menus here:https://www.elxis.net/docs/using-elxis/administration/menus.html
Full documentation about Elxis 4.1 is here:
https://www.elxis.net/docs/
Ask if you need some clarification.

I have seen this Web site for Elxis 4x before (a nice effort), but i think that Elxis 4.x needs a more
detailed multilingual documentation
(pdf) in order to conquer the world with its unique identity. Similar to
http://books.google.gr/books?id=f6J-ovZfPbwC&pg=PA3&lpg=PA3&dq=ilias+antonopoulos++elxis&source=bl&ots=8W4aw0EjxF&sig=Ne0VOXBdo2KyyAI6Qm7IZbaAaSY&hl=el&sa=X&ei=c-boUo7zOqeQ0AW-kIDwDg&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=ilias%20antonopoulos%20%20elxis&f=false
A huge job for Elxis team but ambitious! Now i have read the above book and the one with templates written by the same author and it's difficult to read now Elxis 4 due to lack of time. When i finish this project and i will have time i am willing to learn and ... write of course if you need me the first pdf big book for Elxis 4x (i think it should be written soon).
Now is there any solution to this problem with suckerfish menu? If yes you can send me an email gmail with analytical steps like the serbian web site that you built. In future i will need your support because i want to take database information from other government services IRS, Ministry of Transport etc via soap and display them in bots. Anything in mind not now? EDC uses CURL and it does not take input parameters (xml from static URL page) (it's for me one lifetime project) and afterwards definitely i move to elxis 4x.
Kind Regards

Sorry again! But i am sure that i have sound something similar close to what i am looking:
Just take a look to see how powerful Suckerfish menu is without use of javascript (only with css code)
http://codersblock.blogspot.gr/2011/01/suckerfish-dropdown.html
(css code)
and of course what i was looking (live example)
http://codersblock.com/blog/demos/suckerfish/demo3.html
Ivan, i expect to hear your comments (i am in the right direction or not?)
thanks to all of you!!!

From the images you posted here, it looks like menu is working as it should. I don't understand what is the problem. As for colors, you have to edit respective css file (modules/dsmenu_h.css for horizontal, or modules/dsmenu_v.css for vertical). Javascript is needed only for IE6, but it could be removed easily as nobody uses IE6 anymore.
