E commerce : "Pay to read" extension ?!

Congratulations for Elxis,

in general it seems to be a very nice tool, with a promissing future, if it's well developed.

The MultiLingual aspect is a great plus, but it would become even better, if you could add a simple and efficient solution for on-line translations also for the content (text).

Joomla has one, but unfortunately it's not free (it's sold).

Anyway, paid or free, such an extension would be a great "plus" for Elxis, and for us, a must.

You could use EDir component on Elxis 2006.x which had subscriptions management build-in. There is not such option yet for Elxis 2008.x.

a) How can we find this module, now in EDir on Elxis 2006.x, and how does it work ? Does it allow "pay to read" subscriptions, where readers get free introduction, but have to pay for the full content, one by one if they wish ?


b) If you already had such a useful extension in Elxis.2006.x, why not add it also to the brand new Elxis.2008 ?

=> If you succeed to have something like the tool we described above, inside Elxis.2008, this (added to the Multi-Lingual aspect) will be a great advantage compared to Joomla, giving Elxis a big, world-wide boost !

Can it be done soon enough ?

The new version of EDir is being developed right now. It will be ready in 1-2 months but most probably the new version wont have subscriptions support.

Regardless of that, Elxis remains a very promising tool. We really hope that you succeed to develop it a max !
May be we shall give it a try, as it stands.

For the "pay to read" module, an add-on software should exist somewhere in the web, independently.
In case you decide to include something similar to the new EDir, later-on, thanks to let us know.
