I had a similar question.
The answer is no. At least at the moment. Is best to use SMF autonomously.
There is a module though for Elxis2008 that shows the latest topics from SFM, as Datahell suggested to me.
Check it out:

For your information:
Elxis CMS has an integrated mechanism for bridges (component Bridge). This mechanism has been used in Elxis 2006 to create several bridges, including Elxis-SMF bridge. In order to create a bridge you have to use a valid bridge registry number which should be given to you by Elxis.org. Bridges have been abandoned in Elxis 2008 as a bridge in not a good solution at all. It needs a lot of CPU power, many hacks to work and can generate problems to your site. Although the Bridge mechanism is abandoned it still exists and can be used, but it is not a recommended solution. We advise you to create native Elxis components instead of bridged applications.

Ok, I think that I got your point.
Creating Elxis natural component is more preferable an not needing too many resources.
