The million doller question i know but...!

Know you've been asked many time I'm sure. But as your nearing the completion of Elxis 2008 out of its beta stage, could you please give us an approx time of release. Need to know due to my clients due projects.

I'd rather use elxis than joomla if i could delay my clients.

Elxis 2008 development has been officially stopped. What we do right now is the creation of the front-end template and a check to front-end's html. This is not a normal template, it is a very time consuming job as this template will be the base for the future templates. By creating the template we also check and make small changes to front-end components, modules and mambots if needed. This front-end check will be finished in a few days. After this we will make a check to Elxis SEO PRO system and we also have to create the sample data content (we will do many changes there). Additionally we will give you the front-end and back-end language files for translation (we dont give them yet as we still make some small changes). So, as you see there are still many important jobs to be done besides that the development has been completed. The current stage started (approximately) at October 15 will last for about a month (November 15 - November 31). In paraller we write all the needed documentation which is also a very time consuming job. The first online Elxis 2008 site was created on October 15! (Oh yes, there is an Elxis 2008 out there!). There is an limit for all these tasks and this is the end of the year. We believe that everything will be ready at about December 15.

Notice that we also have to create a new elxis.org website (a huge task) but we will do this after 2008 release in order not to hold more Elxis release.

thanks for all that information  looking forward to the release...i take it that due to the template changes in 2008 that joomla templates will now not be compatible?

Elxis 2006.x, mambo, joomla 1.0.x templates are installable in Elxis 2008 (and theoriticaly compatible with it) BUT the result wont be nice at all. This is because the html in Elxis 2008 is totally diferrent. So Elxis 2008 needs new templates compatible only with it. Joomla 1.5 I think also has a new template system. So valid templates, fully compatible with Elxis 2008, are only templates designed for Elxis 2008. This is not bad at all. If you see or use once Elxis 2008 you will stack with it!
