Problem with EDIR Reservations Module

Hi

I am trying to add a new reservation item, but whenever I click to add an item a message "Getting data..." is displayed with a rotating icon.   I am not given an option to enter a new item as it just continuously hangs at this point.

While developing on a localhost server this functionality seemed fine, and has only started to occur (I think) since uploading the site to the web.

Any ideas or pointers would be most appreciated.

Please check the following:

- Do you have any htacess file that restricts access to backend ( administrator/ folder)? If yes remove it. Elxis needs to communicate with backend.
- Have you set reservation extension correctly?
- Have you set reservation item correctly? Check Vacancy (greater than 0) and reservation seasons (starting from January 1st and ending to December 31).

If you can n't solve the problem send me username/password to your site backend to check the problem.

Deleted htaccess.txt, but still no joy.

As far as I'm aware it is configured OK.

I don't get as far as specifying number of vacancies, etc.

Everything works fine in EDir. I successfully added a new reservation item of listing "Studio 305, Avoriaz".

The problem is in your Elxis installation. When you transfered Elxis from your local installation to your online site you forgotten to transfer all the needed files. For example the TinyMCE editor does not loads as at least one file is missing:
/mambots/editors/tinymce.xml

I hope you transfered right your database...

I also added an other reservation item from frontend with different user for listing "Studio Bleu, St. Gervais". Everything ok.

Please check your Elxis installation.
At elxis.org there is a tool named "updiag". This can help you find missing files. Download and install it (there are instructions inside the zip). This will check Elxis file system integrity and tell you exactly what goes wrong. If any file is missing or is not original upload it from the Elxis installation zip.

Some things you should also check:
- If possible upgrade mysql. You have an old version.
- Enable FTP access over files from the Elxis global configuration page.

Many thanks for the help.  I have been away for the week so apologies in the delay in replying.

OK, I downloaded and installed the updiag tool (cool tool by the way - thanks for bringing it to my attention).

I have uploaded the missing files.  This happened as I don't have FTP access through the firewall at work, so used my porviders web ftp software which allows a maximum of 2Mb zip files (so I had to split the elxis site into multiple zips), and times out after 60 seconds of transfer.  So thought I'd copied them all, but my mistake as I hadn't.

The only one reporting missing now is install.php, which I haven't copied over yet as I didn't think I'd need it.

I have also enables FTP access over files.

Unfortunately, I can't do much at the moment re updating mysql as I'm at the mercy of my host provider for this.

So, that's where I'm at now, but I still have the problem when trying to add a new reservation item, or editing an existing one.... by the way, how did you add the test ones?

Your EDir installation works fine!

From backend:
- Edit an existing listing or save the new one and re-open it for edit.
- Go to the reservations tab and click "Load extension" link if it is not loaded.
- Click on "new" to add a new reservation item.
- Enter data in the reservation item and then click "save" to save it.
- Click "save" in elxis toolbar to save the whole listing.

Still got a problem with the front end.

Log into the front end as a user, click on listings, then edit a property.  Click on either 'New' or Edit an existing reservation item and a message is displayed quickly aying 'sending data..., then hangs on 'Getting data...' with a spinning blue circle icon.

Could it be my browser?  Although I have tried this now on a number of different machines with the same result.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

I can't use the site until I can resolve this problem, as my users cannot even edit reservation items.

Does it run javascript or something at this point, when clicking 'New' or 'Edit'?

I've tried it now on IE5, 6, and 7 with no joy.

In my previous check I easily added a new reservation item from frontend without errors or problems... Send me again url and login info for frontend to check it again.

EDIT: ok, I found login data.
I logged in in your site's frontend and successfully added a new reservation item at listing: St. Gervais. No problem at all! You need admin to publish listing from backend to be this item viewable by all in frontend. My browser: Firefox 2.0

Ok, well when I try and create or edit a reservation item in the front end using the user login details I supplied you, it is not working using IE5 or 7.

It would appear to be trying or running javascript editres (6,5,1) but I have noticed it displays error on page in the status bar.

I assume it should work using IE, as I can't force all my users to use an alternative browser.  Plus it worked using IE when I was developing the site off line.

Is there any part of the site I could try re-installing without having to start all content from scratch?
