No pictures in articles or Admin Panel

My problem is that I cant see any pics/icons/banners and everything pictures related in the frontend and in the backend. The installation run smoothly and had no problems.Every directory was writable according to the check by elxis. I checked the CHMOD of the files and changed it to 750(even tried 777
) and still no result. I checked the files also and I can open them from my Server Cpanel file manager so the files are not corrupted. I must be doing something wrong with the permissions.I would be most grateful if someone can explain what CHMOD I must set to the elxis files and directories.
Thanks in advance.

If you have turned on Hotlink protection in cPanel, you must add your domain (yourdomain.com,
www.yourdomain.com
) or simply turn of hotlink protection. That's all.

omg I am such a noob
.Thanks Ivan. I am building my new website on another server on a temporary account given to me by my hosting company and I will transfer the domain name after I have it ready. I set up hotlink protection but forgot to add the temporary url.Can you tell me also what CHMOD should the exlis directories and files have after installation? Is 705 cool or 644 will do the job also?
Thanks.

Basically, I use this:
777/755 for folders (writtable/nonwrittable)
666/644 for files (writtable/nonwrittable)
but, security measures should not be discussed in public. One should reveal sensitive info just to trusted friends in private, so use PM for discussing particular dirs, files, domains, permissions...
