Possible to add link functionality to Image caption field? -for attribution link

A common requirement when using free images shared under Creative Commons Licences is that the image should be accompanied by a photo credit which must include a link to the original source of the image and to the profile (e.g. on Flickr) of the photographer. Failure to attribute such photos correctly can result in nasty letters and penalties from such companies as Pixsy.com - the web now features malicious actors called "copyleft trolls" who make images available for free online but if anyone uses the image without including a link to the photographer, they are subject to huge fines. Therefore, would it be possible in a future version of Elxis to make the image caption field for articles HTML friendly? so that links can be included? Also, Google Images shows Elxis category pages in their reverse search results. Currently there is no way to include a caption for images used on Elxis category pages.

This is an excellent new tool for getting the exactly correctly-wording photo credit/attribution for any photo in the creative commons or public domain: www.openverse.org
If you search for any photo and then click into the photo, there is a section called "Credit the Creator" in the bottom right corner.
There is an option to copy and paste a HTML version which includes the required links - you can change the language in the bottom left corner of any photo page.

Somewhat related to this: I've noticed that image caption fields don't seem to be included in content search on the frontend.
