Hide Content except to logged in users?

Hi there,
I think I asked this question years ago and that it's possible, but I can't remember the exact term to find the answer. I believe, inline, in an article, particular content can be hidden unless a user is logged in. Is that possible? i.e. the article is general public access, but parts of the article are hidden unless it's a logged in user viewing the article.
