Hello all,
This is to inform you about the new privacy laws that will begin soon and that they will affect information technology in the EU.
GDPR the new data protection law of the EU will be in effect on May 25, 2018.
While this will affect companies mostly it will also have an impact on individuals.

Hello, is not a privacy law but is the EU regolament of the personal data .. much much important law.
Since ELXIS is able to manage personal data (user registration) I think Datahell should study the problem and apply some fix for having ELXIS 100% compliant to the law request
.
I'm studying this law for my customers (private and governament sites) and I must admit that is not simple having all compliant with law
.
Bye.

Manage user registration? Where do we have to consider about?

It means that any information about anyone who registers on a web site must be protected from being seen by others. This affects web site users, information displayed from databases, and especially e-shops.

About registered users, I write below some law requirement where ELXIS is not compliant:
According Law Registered User has the right to:
1)
Asking for porting his data:
I think the problem can be solved exporting their collected data in csv or xls or textual format - Law indication is that the content shoud be easly readable.
2)
Right to be forgotten
. Users can be able to delete his data account.
Moreover Currently we have only
Recover Password.
We should have also
Recover Username.

After speaking with my lawyer the other day, companies will have many changes to make.
I just came across this post from the webhosting talk forum.
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1682415&NL=WHIR-01&Issue=WHIR-01_20180221_WHIR-01_156&sfvc4enews=42&cl=article_2&utm_rid=CPNET000004554539&utm_campaign=6149&utm_medium=email&elq2=ca47237e00a14343b1e6d094f3611d76
This looks like a well written guideline for websites but as the texts appear to be tailored to the websites, I believe that anything written will require a review by a lawyer.

As far as i can read, it does not require national governments to pass any
enabling legislation, and is thus directly binding and applicable. We must read
it (2016/679 EU Regulation) at first and examine how it will be applied per
case.
