More character strings at the column metakeys of elx_content

Hello Everyone,

I want to use more than 255 characters in metakeys column , at elx_content table and i need to know if i'm going to have any issues.
Can i change, the type field of metakeys (elx_content) from  varchar (255) to TEXT ?

Is the field metakeys indexed ?

You can safely change it to text, although I believe 255 characters are more than enough for meta keys. Also note that Google usually doesn't takes them under consideration now days because of bad usage (seo spam). So even if you write 10000 characters I don't think your SEO rank will raise. The more possible is to happen the opposite...

I know about SEO rank and that google does not take account of the  the meta keys, but I need add to my articles a few words even
