Hello,
First I would like to wish a happy and creative new year to all of you. I also want to congratulate the elxis team as well anyone who has contribute to the elxis project.
I am very new (amateur, not professional) to elxis and to the website creation things etc but I am interested to learn. I m planning to create a non commercial website based on elxis. I would like to thank you in advanced for your providing support.
Well this is my first question, probably silly one.
1. Is it better to develop online in host or better in localhost and then move files to the host?
2. As I read menus are modules, so a menu should be assigned to a module position. Below I inserted a print screen of IOS Clean template with its module positions. I don’t see the horizontal top menu (Ios Demo Shop DVD Games Movies etc) to be in a module position. Is that correct? Why is so?
3. In my website I want to have a drop down horizontal top menu.
a. Let’s say in the template I have chosen it is not provided such a menu and there is not such a module position. What are the steps I have to follow to create such a menu? Shall I add a module position to the template to the exact place I want it, then install i.e. DSmenu and then assign DSmenu module to that position? Is that correct?
b. If there is such a module position I install DSmenu and I assign DSmenu module to that position? If there is another menu already assigned to that position can I remove it?

Hi how and welcome to elxis.
1. It is usually faster to build your site on localhost and transfer it to live host later, but it can be done either way.
2. It is true, because top menu in IOS Clean is integrated into template itself.
3a&3b. Usually, any template has top position. That is the position where top modules are published. Default is top menu module. So, you can publish your menu at top position, or any other. You can even create new module position and call it through template where ever you want.
