Problems with the installation (solved)

Hello everybody.
I have a problem that i cannot resolve.
I got anything going ok until the 4 step.
And then i get allways the same error 
The error text is :

Database connection settings
Fill-in the needed information in order Elxis to connect to the database and import basic data.
At least one fatal error occured. You can not continue. The Elxis installer error messages follows:
  • Can not write to temporary configuration file (installation/tmpconfig.php)

then i go a step back.But there is everything ok like :

Temporary configuration file

Elxis uses a temporary file to store configuration parameters during the installation procedure. Elxis installer must be able to write on this file. So you must either make this file writeable or enable FTP access in order for the installer to be able to write on it using an FTP connection.

The ftp settings are also ok.So what can i do?How can i solve this problem?

Most probably, you have entered wrong DB, username, or password.

sorry where i have to add the data?
In the tmpconfig.php ? or somewhere else?
how many lines or better which lines do i have to edit.

Ok the problem is, i dont have any screen like that on step 4

ok guys i have tried these all :
uploaded all files in the main dir  : /www
tried with with different web browsers such as :i firefox,ie8,chrome,opera ...allways great until step 4.All browsers show me the same thing as i have taken the printscreen.
have tried wit cute ftp / filezilla to change the permission from the tmpconfig.php first into 666 : result not working
tried with both programms again and changed the chmod into 777 : result again the same problem.

So what is happen? im really confused about this situation.Have installed many times smf, ipb, v-bulletin.
i never had a problem like that before

Do you provide FTP access details to the installer? If not, please do it and click the "check FTP settings" link bellow. If you see a "SUCCESS" message only then move to the next step. If you dont see a SUCCESS message then you provide wrong FTP access details and the installer will not be able to write on files owned by the local user. The installer needs to write on a temporary configuration file named tmpconfig.php

As for your referal to other applications, not all applications are the same. I have installed elxis more than 100 times online and all installations ran smoothly.

to datahell => why  666 ..?  since it will be delete after installation why to be writable only by group and not public writable? 777

Kostas, 777 means file is EXECUTABLE (as program). You don't give executable permissions to files. Directories with 777 mean that everyone can read/write content, but for files it's dangerous. 666 means everyone can read/write files, but not execute them as program.

As you can see the ftp test was ok.

I allready gave chmod 666 for the tmpconfig.php but again and again the same problem.

Is there no answer for this? or is there another way to install elxis (maybe with skip step 4, make the install manuel from the php file or something like that?)

Windows server I see, this is suspicious.
Can you give me access to your site to try install it for you? I need username/password for the site ftp and for your control panel, and the data for the elxis database.

With a little help i solved the install problem.
But there is another problem.This has nothing to do with elxis.
The server that i buy it is crap.
Now the htaccess is not running 

And all i want to buy and use was the https://www.isopensource.com/software/ios-reservations-3-hotel-booking.html

Seems like i have no change to get it running on that server.

If you search this forum you will see 2 recommendations regarding the hosting you choose:

1. Don't pick windows servers
2. Don't pick plesk as control panel

I don't know if it is coincident or not, but the most problems occur on servers with windows and/or plesk.

Hello there,

Finaly i did it
I changed the Ms server into Linux server.
But i have the Plesk control pannel.The installation was succesfull and i have at last the Elxis CMS installed.

All i have to do is read this forum carefully and than get the reservation ext.
