Language files in text editor format.

I would like to ask all the users how has start the translation of the Elxis,
if they have the English or Spanish language files in any text editor format.
I will start full translation for the administration and the front end section in Catalan Language
(of course with 3rd party help).
Thank you for your time.
It will be great if all the users can offer "a little stone" in Elxis.
Best Regards,
Nick Sirigos

I did not understood your question. I will only make a comment here regarding the Catalan language and the Elxis locale system.
For Catalan language you should use the
catalan
(exactly as written here) as the name of your language/files.
In a unix enviroment, selecting
catalan
as user language will have the consequential
Elxis locale
to be set on
ca_ES.utf8@euro
(or ca_ES.utf8 or ca_ES).

To sirigos:
MS word is NOT a text editor
, but a rich text editor! Never use word for translating Elxis language files.
The only thing you need in a TEXT editor supporting UTF-8. The best text editor out there is notepad++ and PsPad, both free and open source, supporting ANY language but you can use any other compatible you wish.
