Installation Problem
«

Color me stupid, because I've never done this before.
The step by step installation guide says after creating database to run the installer.
What is the installer?
There is nothing that says installer or setup.
What am I supposed to run?
I tried typing
http://www.mysite.com/subdirectory/index.php
and I get address not found.
I'm installing into a subdirectory because I'm using the for a sub site.
I'm sorry for being such a newbie. I've installed scripts and such before, but there was always a setup.php

Hi and welcome,
If you want to install Elxis in subdirectory, you should download Elxis zip file from Elxis Downloads Center, copy that file into your subdirectory, and unzip the file's content into this subdirectory. After doing so, your subfolder will contain 15 directries and 10 files in it. After you complete this task, you should just enter
http://yoursite/yoursubdir/
into your browser's adress bar. Your installatin will start automatically.

I get the same error that I got before.
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@debkerri-designs.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

As Jazzman told you, you just upload Elxis in any directory you like and then visit that directory with your browser.
Elxis installer will automatically been displayed.
Here are some examples:
you upload elxis inside folder test/
you must visit:
http://www.debkerri-designs.com/test/
you upload elxis inside folder test/elxis/
you must visit:
http://www.debkerri-designs.com/test/elxis/
If you use a sub-domain and not a sub-directory, then if the sub-domain is "mytest" you should visit:
http://mytest.debkerri-designs.com/
If you uploaded elxis in a sud-directory (elxis) of a sub-domain (mytest) then you should visit:
http://mytest.debkerri-designs.com/elxis/

That is exactly what I did.
I typed in debkerri-designs.com/pixel-ma/
That's when I got the internal server error listed above.

If you are getting error 500 (internal blabla...), this might be because suPHP is in use on your server. I suppose your server is on linux, though.
1. Check if suPHP is configured for your domain.
2. Check who is the owner of extracted files
3. Check files/folders permissions.

It turns out that my server is having problems.
I haven't been able to get to my Cpanel file manager half the time today.
I deleted two databases tonight and 10 minutes later they were back again.
I renamed some files and a few minutes later they reverted back to the original name.
My server status report says its working fine, but I have news for them.
I'm going to call them tomorrow if this keeps up.
I hope I don't have to delete my whole site and rebuild it.
Thank you for the help, its much appreciated.
I didn't think I could be that stupid... lol
