FrontPage structure (links, categories, etc) : how to make it simple and clear

Concerning the general layout of the Frontpage's structure :

- How can we make the "LINKS" section's contents immediately visible at the Frontpage ?

- In general, is it possible to explain, in a simplified and clear manner, how could we modify the place, numbers, etc. of the categories' items visible at  the Frontpage ?

Your first menu item in the mainmenu menu becomes automatically your site front page. So set "links" menu item ordering first.
