Big problem with EDIR bilingual
«

Hello, I'm developing a bilingual site and using EDIR.
The thing is that I want hotel listings in spanish and english.
I created categories for each language like:
category HOTELES
and category HOTELS.
And I was hoping to make a listing like Hotel Cuenca for category HOTELES and Cuenca Hotel for category HOTELS.
Each listing would show the information about the hotel in english or spanish.
The BIG problem I have now is that I want to use reservations; and if I get a reservation in my hotel by a user who opened the website in english; that reservation will not affect the listing that is in spanish language and I will get incorrect information about availability of rooms.
The fact that information is showed in both languages is mandatory.
I don't know what to do.
Please help!

This is a problem, indeed. Possible solutions (choose the best for you - there is no perfect solution):
1. Create only one listing for both languages. Write your description texts in both languages inside the same listing.
2. Create 2 listings one for each language with separate reservation. Here is an example:
Hotel A1
Language: english
Rooms: 10
Hotel A2
Language: french
Rooms: 10
Lets say someone makes a reservation for hotel A1. If you confirm the reservation go (using your own info) and make a reservation to hotel A2 exactly with the same data as in A1. This way listings will be always synchronized. Just ignore virtual reservations made by you (you can delete them after reservation period pass).
3. Create 2 listings, one for each language but add the reservation extension in only the one of them. In the other post a link for reservation to the first listing. If you have the first listing available in both languages then he will continue the reservation procedure in his own language otherwise you should add a "&mylang=xxx" in your link inorder user to change language.

Is it going to be any future fix for that?
I say that because just imagine to have in the same site 6 languages, this it will be difficult to update by using the 2nd solution which indicates to be the most reasonable one.

Other CMSs don't have this problem because they simple don't support multi-linguism... So, it is shame to blame Elxis/EDir for such a thing (It gives you much more in comparison with one language only solutions). Besides this, yes EDir will be updated later and many things like this will be solved. We have make a big list of things that needs to be changed inorder to become more user friendly and even more powerful.

No one blames no one. Edir
is
a powerful tool! The thing is that because it supports multi languages the user expects to work with multiple additions of the same listing in other languages automatically.
We will not have this problem because we are going to use "reservations" next year...! So, hopefully there will be an update until then. eh?

for the moment I will go for the solution #1, but if my client changes her mind, I will come back to ask for your help.
Thanks.
