elxis 4.6, when open page edit, only white screen

Hi ..,

today, I wanted to update a page, content only.
Whilst all appears on first look as normal, ................ /content/articles/edit.html?id=xx oly returns white pages. in fact on all pages and that on TWO sites. Neither a new page can be created but pages can be copied and deleted

Both sites where recently moved and restored via the the regular cPanel restore.
All other, as editing, adding categories ... appears working as normal

Anyone has any ideas, what did happen? yes, it's on TWO sites

sorted:

add in /etc/my.cnf  near the end:     sql_mode='' or if any entries in   sql_mode=  , then erase them

yes, if I ask something and sometimes, I can fix it later myself, I reply to myself with the solution. It might help others. Others might search around to help, but it's fixed. Waste of others time is well
