Go with IOS 3 Now, Or Wait for IOS 4?

Hello,

I want to start a new project, but not sure whether to start with IOS 3 now, or wait for IOS 4 to be released. This is especially important for me because PayPal (only payment method for IOS) is not available where I am, and I'm going to trouble a friend to make the purchase for me... so purchasing IOS 3 now, and having to go trouble my friend a second time to pay again for an upgrade to IOS 4 will be too much of a border, especially if IOS 4 is just around the corner.

I know it may be impossible to mention exact release dates, but I'm wondering if you can give any rough time frames as to when IOSR 4.x Hotels will be released. Weeks from now? Months?

The schedule is to be ready until the end of this summer but not always things goes based on schedule...
Even if it was ready it takes even more time for translations, testing, backend support, etc... Consider in about 3 months.

In spite of that IOSR 3 version is compatible with Elxis CMS 2009.x series and IOSR 4 with Elxis CMS 4.x series. So an upgrade process won't be acceptable.

I'm not sure what you meant by "an upgrade process won't be acceptable"... but my specific questions are:

1) If I decide to start my project now I'll need to purchase IOS3 and run Elxis2009. Since IOSR4 is just around the corner, will I need to to purchase again to migrate to IOSR4 (on Elxis 4)?

2) Will you provide a tool some sort to migrate from IOSR3 on Elxis2009 to IOSR4 on Elxis 4?

IOSR 4 will be released when it will be 100% ready and well tested. If everything goes well the hard part will be ready by the end of August. After that I will still need time to build minor important things like extensions, documentation, demo site, presentation, support system, etc. I can't say now when IOSR 4 will be released but I can say that I will never release it if it is not 100% ready. Yesterday I wrote on my Twitter account that IOSR 4 currently is like a handwritten book of 1370 pages without spaces! This, to understand the size of the project and the work needed to reach this point.

I will continue publishing reports on how the the project is going but please stop asking me much details for it.
Finally IOSR 4.x is for Elxis 4.1+ (if you have Elxis 4.0 you need to upgrade to 4.1), it is not compatible to Elxis 2009.x, not compatible to IOSR 3.x and you can not upgrade from 3.x to 4.x.
