duplicate duplicate pages pages

Hi,
This is not a new issue at all:
When you select a component to be displayed as your home page, "duplicate" pages are indexed by search engines.

Example:
You set the x component to  be displayed on your homepage...

Now there are at least three urls you can use to access the same page (your homepage) with seo pro enabled.

1. example.com
2. example.com/com_x/
3. example.com/x/

You have no control of which page will be indexed by search engines (it will likely be all three, earning you a duplicate content penalty).

To fix, do not use a component as your homepage, I know.
Is there another way around this?
Most component main pages are very nice looking, and it's very tempting to use them as home page.
Doing this however is equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot.

Any ideas?

The only thing I can right now think is to edit seo and sef source code to exclude 2 and 3 urls...I can provide more info later when I get home...

There is no other way to do that from e.g. the back end.

I think the example number 2 might have been indexed because I used the older version of IOS Sitemap. Url example.com/com_x/ still works, but I can not find links pointing to this address anywhere. One and three are still an issue.
