Blog Section - SEO

Hi pals:

I have a little problem and I hope one of you can help me out. I have configured my elxis to stop adding the "blog" word to the content sections in blog view (mydomain.com/blog/news   now--> mydomain.com/news), this is because I much rather have the word "blog" added to the EBlog component as it is much easier to remember by the word blog (mydomain.com/blog).

So I achieved that, and it worked fine at the beginning but recently I have noticed that the Blog Section view is not working. Table view works fine but the Blog View doesn´t. When I click on a menu item pointing to such blog view I end up on the frontpage or whatever page I have as number 1 on the main menu.

So my question is, does any of you know how to make this work, that is to say avoid the word blog -or any other word- before the Section SEO title and still show it in a Blog View (which is awesome by the way)

Or..... maybe this could be a better solution.....

Can I change my settings so that the Blog View will replace the Table View, in other words... discard the Table View in order to have the Blog View as the only way to display content... I think this way you wouldn´t need a "blog -or any other word" to differentiate the two kinds of Views....


I must say that when I disable SEO Pro the web flows normally displaying the awesome Blog views

When you say that you removed the word blog, did you do that in the module heading or somewhere else?

As for which view you choose, if you are using the data layout of section -> category -> content then you can choose to display your data from a new menu blog or table view.

I took out the word "blog" from the url generated by SEO Pro and I did that by changing some of the codes from SEO, and content.php

What I'm trying to achieve is to have a section display its articles in a blog view but without the word "blog" in the url.

I have assigned the word "blog" to the Eblog component, so when you type: mydomain.com/blog you go straight to the Eblog component.

There is lot of of code you should change to achieve what you want... It is not recommended that you do so. This is one of Elxis' core functionallity... There has to be a way in a SEO Pro URL that Elxis understands when Blog or Table view is selected. So at least one view must have a distinguishing word.

My best advice is either find another word for /blog or find a word for Table view!

What you are doing is a modification to the code.  It would be better for you to simply use the news module to display you content within the main area rather than modifying the program.

Yeah, I think I got into a big hole here.... I am sure there is a lot of code to modify.... I was hoping someone has stepped into this kind of problem before. I believe that this could be considered a suggestion for the SEO Pro development in Elxis. Some people would love to display content in blog view but without having to add the word blog to the url as the word blog is better used for a blog section displaying blog entries not content.

Some people don´t care much about their url but for some others the url is a fundamental factor.

I hope this may be a help to keep taking Elxis to the highest level. I really like Elxis it is 100% the best CMS system, I have tried many many others.

Still hopinng someone may know how to do this.

I wouldn´t mind having a word for table view, as I will not use at all for the purpose of showing content, I rather stick to the blog view....

do you know how can I add a word for Table view so blog view wouldn´t need one anymore?
