There are a lot of Templates on EDC which uses Search Engine Optimization techniques.
One of the parameters is when the main content of your site ( articles ) read first than left or right menu.
Don't forget that search machines read the page of source code from begin to the end of it.

You must know about CSS in order to change that width. This parameter affects the width of #sitecontent , #main-body , #leftcolumn  etc.

I've spent few £ to buy Ioannis' template IOS Clean and apart from contributing to his work (thank you) I think it look quite well on my website (http://zimbrul.net). Obviouslly, some adjustements needs to be done, however this is just at the early stages, the website I mean...
