In Elxis we follow a different approach when thinking of subjects such as community, updates, security and development.
Elxis SVN is private for some reasons that is not here the place and the time to analyze why.
If a security problem appears we release a patch within the same day.
Elxis community is an official team of members that help us with Elxis development in several ways.
We discuss some things in private without publishing much info. This is a way to protect Elxis from bad people.
We focus on security and stability more than the layout and style. We have discontinued or changed the way some features work in order to limit possible security flaws even if there were no security issues.
We have tools to analyze the Elxis filesystem and updates status.
We have tools to prevent and/or notify us about attacks to Elxis sites.
All Elxis sites have access internally to the Elxis remote/updates center.
We even provide free personal support to people having problems with Elxis installation or configuration.
Elxis uses modern programming style and PHP5 a long time before other CMSs do so. For instance Elxis works with registered globals off since 2006 while joomla did it just before 1-2 years.
Finally I will report just some of the built-in security systems Elxis has, many years before joomla do something like these.
CSRF attack prevetion. Login page cloack. Elxis Defender (protection againtst XSS attacks). FloodBlocker. SSL switch. integrated updates center in real time. Elxis shell pre-installer generates a highly recommended installation enviroment. SEO PRO URLs and URL filtering. System templates with pages such as 404. Updiag tool for filesystem check. Integrated database manager/backup. Editable/expandable user groups and user access. Third-party extensions verification process. And much more.
