Flickr & SEO
«

Hi,
I was of the impression that it would be better to upload all my images of my site onto Flickr and have it hosted and linked from there, to drive more traffic to my site via Flickr and also organic searches. Much like the flickr API used in IOSR.
So is this theory correct? Would it do that?
However, I don't think Flickr pictures are indexed in google picture searches?
Any opinions ?
Thanks

Flickr SEO - Optimizing Your Flickr Photo Gallery
A big catch !
Flickr is for personal use only. If we find you selling products, services, or yourself through your photostream, we will terminate your account.

Thanks for your great feedback, what a shame. But if it is just pictures of scenery, people, nothing really noting to a company and even if you don't have any copyright or watermark on it....
Hmmm would anyone recommend other photo sharing sites without any commercial taglines

Do you know if Picasa has a no commercial TOS clause?
Thanks

Google wants to be (and remain) the king of search and since Images are items that are often searched, you can expect that they’ll continue their efforts on facial recognition, location awareness, etc.
Googleing results:
Embedding Picasa Images in Your Site ?
You can host the images anywhere and embed the image – Picasa provides embed code:
In the End
Alternatively, using Picasa’s hosted solution *can* get photos ranking in the their universal search results.. adding a caption and getting some comments is about all you can do (above and beyond the image name optimization) but it can work.
