cannot get in to Administration (SOLVED)

I installed Elxis successfully and in the process wrote down the login user and password, but the username and password keep coming back as incorrect! I have sent an email to find out how to do this but have not yet received an email from Elxis!!!

I thought that normally information like that was sent to the e-mail entered during installation so that the user has some kind of info to keep in files. But, I never received anything.

now i can see my home page, get into forums, etc etc: but can't seem to go to administration.

Hi,

I have just installed elxis on my computer.
I'm a french guy so I put french as default language and english as second one.
So, installation worked fine.

My homepage in french is okay (even if each link in menu is shown twice).

First problem :
When clicking on english flag, it tried to load   http://localhost/elxis/en/.
Problem is that it redirect to my webserver homepage.
So, I solved it by modifying .htaccess file (renamed from htaccess.txt).
   => For each language line, I replaced /index.php by index.php
I decided to setup a vhost to see if it changed...
As I expected, it calls index.php of my vhost so it works fine now.

Second problem :
I can't access administration part...
I tried to access it from   http://localhost/elxis/administrator/   but it only show a blank page.
I tried to play with configuration.php file with no success...
Cleaning .htaccess file in parent directory didn't solve the problem, so I'm here to request your help

1- you should only modify  the RewriteBase  rule if needed nothing else...
duplicated entries in menus.... seems that you tried many times(really many) to install elxis... i think that you have a broken installation

2- check your server error-logs ... but i think that you have first to make a clean installation...

I had a problem during installation, because of a wrong password, so I click to reload installation (I saw no "go back" link)
Note that playing with rewrite base didn't solve my problem.. Stange, but real 

Also, I have PHP5.2.9 (previously PHP5.3) and was forced to disable strict notices (I did it in index.php but nevermind)
Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated
Redefining already defined constructor for class FileManager

Thank you, reinstall solved the problem.
No double links, language okay, administration okay (but strict standard notices).

Now I'm ready to build my multilingual wbesite !

In general settings, in Back-end, I changed the field: "description".

When I pressed the "Apply" button, the following screen appeared:

What should I do?

Open file configuration.php with pspad (www.pspad.com) and set the proper password for the database. You changed it accidentally when editing the global configuration (never let the browser to save passwords!)
