I HAVE ENCOUNTERED PROBLEMS AFTER INSTALLATION!

Hello Friends,

I am a Pakistani national, 59 years old, commodity broker. I am not a technical person but still have some knowledge of HTML. I have also installed latest version of ELXIS Software but unfortunately after installation I faced the following problems:

1) I am not able to login to my admin area!

2) I saw following two major warnings on top of the header of my site: http://kamaal.ws

     -  PHP: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/kamaalws/public_html/configuration.php:81)

First I have searched the Forum.Elxis.org for this kind of problem but many answers were not in English language so I did not understand.

I shall therefore be very glad any of the fellow members can guide me how can I solve these problems and how can I move ahead with my new project.

Welcome makrani to our forum and greetings to Pakistan / U.A.E.

Your problem is caused by the configuration file (most possible in your occasion) or the language files.

For the configuration file: download it and edit it with "PsPad". Check if exists strange characters before the php starting tag (<?php) if yes, erase them. Encode it as utf-8 (not ANSI) and re-upload it. Does the problem solved?

For the language files: They might have been destroyed during upload. Elxis language files are UTF-8 encoded. Set your FTP client to "AUTO" mode and re-upload them. If you modified them please upload the original files from elxis.org. Does the problem solved?

Also add the "www" prefix infront of your live site url.

So nice of you! I have checked configuration.php file but did not find any strange character. I have also replaced language folder according to your instructions but the problem still exists.

The problem is 100% at your configuration.php file, see the eror message yourself:

PHP: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/kamaalws/public_html/configuration.php:81)

Check line 81.

You are right. But unfortunately I am not able find where it is... Is it possible that I send you the text of my config file?

I must say I'm surprised because as far as I know, configuration.php has 79 lines, with ending php declaration at line 78. There is no line 81  If datahell is too busy, you can send you config file to me, I would like to see that.

Your reply has given me a clue so once again I checked my configuration.php file and found that there was 3 blank lines at the end of the file (after line number 78) - I removed those blank lines and the error automatically disappeared.
