help regarding popluating site with users and data multiple group permission

I was going through the creation of users and groups where in there are frontend and backend users. in frontend user we have author editor and publisher can somebody help me understand this concept. The way i understand that the forntend user will not have access to the admin section so in that case how can any user submit the data or edit or publish. I have created a user with publish rights so inorder to publish the content where does the user have to go.

I as also stuck up at a place where i want to give access of an autonomous page tp more than one group like for example i have a group finance which is only registered user and finance admin which is a member of backend manager group. So how can i have this page acceed by both this group?

The whole idea is that there will be varoius sections within the site which will be open to a selected group. for example an autonomous page which i created should only be seen by a particular group and or more than one group

lets say there are 5 groups named finance, hr, it, accounts, plant

Within the above groups there will be users and admin. users should only be able to see the pages from the front end, manage their profile and upload documents for their own use or make it accesible to other users.
Admin are the people who will add content to the site and at the same time should be able to see the content on the front end.

No i have an autonomous page which should be accessed by finance usrers and admin. how can i do this and second situation is i have another autonomous page which should be seen by all the users of HR and Fiance how do i configure this

I always thought that user groups are very simple to understand. If user is, eg., PUBLISHER OR EDITOR, he can content via Add New Article (maybe it is called differently, can't remember) on user menu. He can edit content by simply clicking on the pencil icon, wich will appear on every content item when he is logged in frontend.
