Title: We seek volunteers for the PowerBoard forum

We seek for volunteers to participate in the PowerBoard project.

PowerBoard is the Elxis version of the FireBoard component for Joomla.
FireBoard is based on the simpleBoard component for Mambo.

It's not need to be a php expert to join the project although that would be perfect. We need 1-2 responsible people that wish to help in creating a good forum component for Elxis CMS. You may help in translation, design, creating forum templates, php, debuging etc. We need to move fast and have the component ready in 1-2 weeks maximum. If you are interesting in joining this project please send me a personal message. Those that will picked up will have to learn the basic usage of SVN (subversion) if they are not familiar working in SVN projects. Don't worry we will guide you to the basic usage of SVN.

I suggest you guys try a Elxis/MyBB  bridge..., I know that would build great exposure for Elxis..., as many Mybb users are seeking a Bridge for a cms like Joomla/Mambo...,  and Elxis, Drupal etc. No one has created on yet and  more and more people are dropping SMF IPB and VB because MyBB puts them all to shame.., and MyBB is free.., just as Elxis is..., So I suggest that Elxis be the first to take such a leap forward.., I already know of several people that would be willing beta testers for such a project. This is for sure something for you to think on and a direction I feel many of your target audiences would be seeking. Thanks for your time and concern.

I have heard about MyBB although I have nt seen it yet. PowerBoard has a strong advantage over any bridged solution. It will be a native elxis component meaning: zero problems and strong security. So, we need the PowerBoard forum as a solution. Later, who knows, we may get into MyBB!

hi i translated fireboard in persian and i also i had started to write Ado compatible instalation for it i followed the steps from stargallery and some other minor works i dont know if it could be usfull for you or not .

I have almost finished translation to serbian... I have some doubts, though, weather to translate words like "Favorites" or not... I gave up modding fireboard because datahell announced PowerBoard....

yes, myBB is an upcoming forum system with many similarities to vbulletin. http://www.hellenicgate.com

I would like to thank all the people that wanted to help. Please dont send me other PMs! We have already enough members to the PowerBoard project  :)

Please don't translate or do any other job without beeing told because you will just loose your time.

PowerBoard is a mass re-write of the FireBoard component.
FireBoard has many-many errors (mostly bad html) which must be solved. Also has a huge language file which is not nessessary for Elxis (Elxis has an already build-in language system with many of the words already existing). FireBoard has too many php constants and variables without being needed and bad php code/structure. All these must be removed/fixed for the Elxis version (PowerBoard). I have already written from scratch a new installation procedure based on ADODB schemas (one for the installation and an other one for the sample data) which meens that PowerBoard will be able to work on Postgre databases too. Those that joined the project can access PowerBoard files via SVN.

I must do a very basic work until I asign you tasks. Please wait 1-2 days until PowerBoard start to take shape. We will need from you translations, templates for PowerBoard, modules, graphic design (a logo someone?)

John I would like to help for PowerBoard, but I am full of work, here we have many season companies (travel agent, rent, shop) and now they work so now they give us new projects.

But ! I will be glad to give a hand in graphic design.
