Elxis Defender won't let me into my Elxis installation.
I saw https://www.elxis.org/blog/update-elxis50-to-51.html article and fulishly decided to update my Elxis to 5.1 with Elxis Defender still on.
Apart from the General protection rules I had the file system protection activated too, because my defender_ban.php changed. I presume hacker attacks.
I followed the guide and updated the com_extmanager folder, to which the site displayed the following message.
-------------------------------------------------
Security alert
Request dropped!
A protected file has been modified! If you dont know what to do consider Elxis documentation or visit Elxis forums for support.
Reference code: SEC-DEFF-0049
-------------------------------------------------
Since the message appeared I tried the following:
1. Reverted back to the old com_extmanager\ folder
2. Uploaded my old local copy of defender_ban.php, as I always had done if Elxis baned my IP.
Needless to say, there was no effect.
Please help to regain control. The site is linked below:

Also I may have tweaked the session control to not allow access to elxis core before authentication, or something along those lines.

Elxis Defender emailed me to tell me to delete the website hashes and it worked!!!
I have regained control over the website, but it says it is the old 5.0.
I am amazed by the work that went into building the Elxis system.
Good work! :)
One last question:
Is there a specific security setting that is ideal for painless update?

Bravo @StefanSultanov!
You should update the database as well. Please update the database and
always take a full backup before proceed any update process.
-
How do I update the database?
This step wasn't mentioned on the update guide I saw.
-
Go to: Extensions menu item at left -> Check for updates ->
find the installed version and click on the relative link below.

Thank you! :)
