Title: elxis 5 - issues attching articles to a categoty
Post by: bully on June 26, 2019, 08:09:58
Hi those interested,

Currently I have some issues attaching articles to a category.
Yes, I know, i have to choose a category   .. and other categories in the same site, function very normal

it affects ALL new created categories, showing just the description - is only for test purpose and the articles themselves appearing also correct linked .
As from the  fifth category and more, the categories appear correct inside the admin area. Once in Menu is a link to those categories, no articles from this categories are displayed

here another screenshot: demo-cat also fails to attach selected articles

Are maybe categories limited by any chance?

ok, I will explain with different words:

admin panel: category, create "Test" = ok, create a link to menu = ok, attach 1 or more articles = ok

Public area, website: click the new category link "test", no articles visible
This is for categories, if more than 4,The first 4 work correctly
4th, 5th ... category

Admin panel, what is set and exist, website, is that, what is public visible

ad min panel         |                  website
cat1                      |   cat1
--art 1                   |    --art 1
--art 2                   |    --art 2
--art 3                   |   --art 3
cat2                      |  cat2
--art 4                   |   --art 4
--art 5                   |   --art 5
--art 6                   |   --art 6
cat3                     |   cat3                     |
--art 7                   |  --art 7
--art 8                   |  --art 8
cat4                     |  cat4
--art 9                  |  --art 9
--art 10                 |  --art 10
cat5                     |  cat5
--art 11                 |   x
--art 12                 |   x
--art 13                  |   x
cat6                     |  cat6
--art 14                 |    x

In category editing page there is a tab called "parameters" which controls various things, among others how many article to display per page. Articles can be displayed as "featured articles", "short articles" and "links". This is for the first page. Make sure you display at least 1 article. For the rest pages (if any) there is the "Next pages style" which controls the style of the rest pages.

Have you cheched this?

yes, this was set as all others. I use 12. categories ain't new for me

Today now, some 24 hours later - all articles appearing on the site as normal. Was that maybe a cache issue? Is not logic for me, as I did create those article some days ago, attached them to the categories and yesterday, they did not show, when changing the category for testing, they did show in the first of the 4 categories, but not in the others.

I have almost on all sites I run a number of categories, so that is stuff, I never had any issues with. Also with the settings in categories, they are pretty straight forward, yes, also for me ;)

The only thing, despite it has an easy workaround since ever, the subtitle. At least for me, there could be an option, to turn them off globally , as I use about 100% of the time anyway the same as the title, and if not, there it still can added manually as any sort of <h3> Since ever, I just hide the subtitles in css, same as the author and time stuff, but they opposite, can be turned off globally

Now, I gonna do some work
