Title: Elxis, I am not sure, which version, but it's pre-Elxi4
Post by: bully on June 04, 2019, 06:37:15
I had to rebuild/new setup a server. now with multi-php ... in WHM

In this account are: website elxis, PRE-Elxis4. as well as a rebuild, currently in progress, of this website.

Now, the old site only appears as white screen.
Now a lot of questions:
I remember, the white screen used to be an issue. anyone still remembers the fix or is 100% sure, which PHP, extensions ... need to applied? again, that is for a long before PRE-Elxis 4 version

The point is not really to get the old back online for ages, but have it available until the rebuild in Elxis 5 is done

Elxis 200x.x do not support PHP v7.x version. So you have either enable 5.6 version
of PHP using MultiPHP tool for this domain (that runs this website) or upgrade Elxis
200x.x version in order to be compatible with 7.x version of PHP.

The second option will perform a number of changes. I have done that. In any case
i believe that the easiest option is the first one!

thx, that it possible that, what I need.

can you please describe the most easy way. this site will after replication die and replaced by the elxis 5 rebuild. I don't care about any functionality, e.g. backend, I just need to get content and a look  and copy .....

* I could provide you the easiest way if i knew the knowledge base. One way is to
include 5.6 version of MultiPHP (easyApache 4) and make the website accessible once
again.

Another option could be the offline work. Create a server locally using XAMPP tool or
anything familiar to you and complete all the tasks needed. I mean transfer the website,
make accessible from there. Create new one with Elxis CMS 4.x. Migrate data from 200x.x
to 4.x and finally update it to the latest version of Elxis CMS (5.0).

*[My apologies as i misunderstood your answer. It's true that i haven't completely
understand what you've written].

No need for sorry.

I say only thank you.
Yes, the upgrading.. that could have been a possible solution. I am just not sure how the tool would work on empty/white pages .....
The wamp thinehs, I never have done, because have all Linux and only linux and on the 'old' server, it did run well, just after moving, yo virtually the same server,  all there, looking well, but white :(

However, I got that somehow sorted. yes, multi php have/had on both, cPanel makes that to easy to run multiple versions in one site/sub domain.

Also the forum here has a lot improved, better questions and often even really attempts to help people. Thumbs-up

ps: in some oher post i have a little bit added some 'strange' things in elxis 5 with template five ..... just my experience or might ne even bigs. not sure. Not need a solution for them, because know how, But others might have even problems on same
