EDir will be a commercial product for Elxis CMS.
It will be offered in a very reasonable price (not set yet).
Based on what it is able to do, it will pay back its money, in no time at all!

So to me the right question is "Does it fit my business plan?" and not "Is it free as a beer?".

We need to handle a few more steps prior offering it. For example (documentation, support site).
I hope that in Max 2 weeks time, it will be ready.

I could agree with everything you say, if i knew that Sobi2 is commerical too.\
Though, as you know Sobi2, (compatible with Joomla) is FREE and is exceptional, and now even with greek language file.
When i say exceptional, i mean meets EVERYBODY's needs. All this for FREEEEEEEE
So...
I pose my question again.

Is there anybody who has trasformed Sobi2 Directory of Joomla to be compatible even with elxis?

pcfun, i would like to say to you my experience about Edir.

Sobi2 has no chance if you compare it with the Edir.
The Edir it is classes higher from any directory component commercial or free, and I would like to notice you again that this is only my opinion and I don't have any profit from the Edir sales.

Title: An answer for everything...

OK. Until now I did not want to become aggressive. But you force me to do so. Say whatever comes down in your heads, what I know is that you already became a profitable business.
A CMS is free of charge when it is as Elxis or Joomla. IT IS NOT ENOUGH. It should also be useful. In order to be useful it should have compatible addons. One of the most useful addons of such systems is a directory. The Elxis doesn't have any directory FREE OF CHARGE. The Joomla YES.
When you spoke for reasonable price of the EDir, this you wanted to say: 218€ the full pack?
Then you do not have logic gentlemen.
I don' t say... you develop a system. Congradulations. But first it should be developed well and then start being profitable. With this tactic it will remain inconspicuous in a small period of time, as it will not be easy to compete the new version of Joomla (although i I believe that Elxis is better) because precisely the Joomla can offer everybody what he needs to have (I repeat FREE OF CHARGE).
And an advice. Even if I am not even 19 years old yet, and you may not take my words in consideration i will say it. Stop Being shown off. All the time I see in this forum : bravo for the new directory, congradulations for the one, exceptional the other... Mercy. And the praises, coincidentally, always come from the same individuals.
And to conclude with, I give an answer in what I constantly hear in this forum - again as self-praise - that Elxis in one year it has made all these, while Joomla in the same period had been developed least. Absolutely NO. Elxis' addons are two line codes different from the Joomlas'. You change 2 lines of code so that they are compatible and that's all. At least you must respect when somebody offers you something. And Joomla offered you.

P.S. Maybe you do not know but I was from the first users of Elxis as you  had sent it to me with e-mail before its public release. When i received it and made the installation you can not imagine what a happiness  it gave me that finally a Greek CMS had been created. Now i am really disappointed. It was a real distruction of the image i had created for Elxis,  the price of its directory. It is provocative when nothing like this is offered free of charge for Elxis. And you can say: All the time you ask free of charge addons. Indeed. This is what I ask, because Elxis' users, I think, are children like me. No workers with money in the pockets in order to buy such software, but simple students.

Now you can ''throw me in fire'' with your answers, with ease....
Good writing, PCFUN

Please write in English.

This is an English speaking section of the site, according to the forum rules you have to reply based on the original thread language.

P.S.
That way, you can also share your opinion with more people.

We were discussing this issue in the Greek language and I missed replying on this English speaking thread.

218 Euros, plus taxes where applicable is the highest price for EDir (http://www.goup.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=23&Itemid=49) (including all Extensions).

The starting price for EDir is 129,00 Euros, plus taxes where applicable. This price includes 6 Modules, 13 iModules, 1 Search bot.

You can then add Extensions, based on your needs.

You can check the Price List (http://www.goup.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=88&Itemid=109).

EDir is developed and distributed by GO UP Inc. (http://www.goup.gr) a real company with 3rd class accounting records, the highest according to Greek law.

EDir is not expensive at all if you take into account what it can do, what would be the cost of collecting components from others sources and from other CMS for accomplishing the same things, and most important, what you can do with it.

EDir was developed based on requests from real customers and real scenarios.

EDir is very cheap because it can be used to create web sites and offer services that are generating revenue.

EDir is the "all to 1 solution", that is addressing professional needs.

I'd love to buy it but after 5 or six attempts today I still havent got it! I have attempted to use the PayPal and the Credit Card facilities but it still wont work properly - as a result it now has 5-6 invoices in my account .... and no one will answer my emails ....

I take it the e-shop is a component of EDir ... I hope it works better on my site!!

I give up waiting for an email back .... I'll post a new thread and see if I get a response here ....

Geoff,

I answered your email and I gave you instructions.
Please take into account the time difference between Greece and Australia and do not get worried for not getting replies immediately...
You even have winter and we are in the middle of the summer  ;)

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for updating the forum entry that everything went fine and the order is complete. We wouldn't like to leave gray areas about our reputation, honesty, professionalism, etc. These are very important elements to us.

Not a problem.

A quick update on the install - everything went super smooth and the sites up and running. Have a lot to do yet as you can imagine but it's a work in progress and I'll get there. (only just discovered Elxis 2 days ago  ;D )

Am really happy with EDir it's just what I was looking for!!
