Hi, all!
I have free time. I plan to make the component E-Converter, which allow to transfer data from other CMS (Wordpress, Joomla) in Elxis 4.
I wanted to ask, need a component?
And there are those who are willing to test it?

That's good news.
My proposal is not to make it a component, there is no need to install something that will run only once. And also it is no good to leave such tools on your site after they run. Make it an external script like the Elxis 2009.x to 4.x converter. You can be based on the official Elxis converter to make it work with other CMSs. If you need any assistance I am here to help.

Would like to allow users to simply upload component with EDC, convert the data, and then just uninstall it.
This is much easier than done in the official converter Elxis.

A converter regenarates the site, creates and deletes content, user accounts, extensions, menus, etc. Runing the converter on a site that it is under such a stress is a bad idea. The site should be offline without any user logged in. Just think what will happen when the convert change the user accounts on the admin that runs it for example. Such tools should be only external scripts, not inside the CMS. This is my personal opinion of course.

Components can be installed only site administrators and will be available only from them.

I think you didn't understood the problem. Read carefully my previous answer. Off course this depends on what the converter will do but in general a script that affects the site in global scale should not be part of the site. This is a general rule of thumb for any software.

I understand that such a converter no interest. Therefore, the work stopped.

It would be really good news if Elxis have a converter from other CMSs' to 4.x. I agree that it needs an external script to do such a conversion instead of developing a new component.
