Title: The requested URL /estia/content/fpage/ was not found on this server.
Post by: mwangi on July 05, 2013, 23:35:00
I encountered this when I went  Content>frontpage in the admin:

Not Found

The requested URL /estia/content/fpage/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

As it seems this error is generated through .htaccess file misconfiguration. Have you modified the .htaccess file? Can you please attach the modified file here?

@webgift He most probably renamed folder "estia" but didn't changed the .htaccess file or the menu link.

Yes of course. I thought that he couldn't access the administrator area at all on such a case. He reported only /estia/content/fpage URL.

Not Found
The requested URL /forum/estia/extmanager/templates/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

>>>>> That is exactly how the error appeared in the first place. I realised I had opened many tabs and when prompted to enter my password, that is the error that pops up. I guess coz of the time session that tab took before being activated. I managed by going back to the administration button on the site and logged in affresh and it worked. Eureka.

Now going back to see whether I will manage the contact us form.

I have just uploaded the htaccess.txt and renamed it .htaccess. Now the contact form is working fine after also going through the Menu Manager. However guests are still a bother.

Hi There, It's been a while since my last visit here.
I installed the new elxis platform but i'm blocked right after the installation time.

When I enter the admin panel I'm not able to do anything. Any link/page doesn't work >> 404 Not found on this server.

When I installed I choose for friendly URLs but always not able to create htacess and configuration. I done it but everything seems related to the htaccess file. It is the original one, any solution or suggestion?

- My website folder is not accessible right now.
- php version is 5.4 and it is hosted on godaddy

On iexplorer I get the home page
on Chrome it redirects to user/login/elxis.html?elxerror=PetBooking+-+Utente+non+trovato    (PetBooking is the site-name and not the username of the admin created in the procedure.)

Looking or your reply..

If htaccess doesn't work on your server then disable it.

Rename .htaccess back to htaccess.txt, open configuration.php and set private $SEF = 0;

I have seen similar problems in sites with plesk control panel and the solution was something on plesk (I don't remember what). There are also similar problems on sites where Elxis is inside a folder of an other site with an other htaccess file on root folder. In any case you can solve this problem but depends on your server setup and I can't imagine what the problem might be from here.

Using this method with Chrome still redirect at index.php/user/login/elxis.html?elxerror=PetBooking+-+Utente+non+trovato (where PetBooking still not an existing user) and with an Error message of redirection loop.

It is working well on iexplorer instead.

What could be a solution?

We have discussed the login problem with chrome and there is a solution ready.
Upgrade to Elxis 4.2 rev1638 or do this: fix chrome login (https://forum.elxis.org/index.php?topic=8187.msg52792#msg52792)

Thanks but the fact is that I'm not in case of upgrading previous installation, this is a brand new installation with the latest zip downloaded Elxis 4.2 Icarus revision 1638.

The line 288 in session.class.php, infact, is the same as suggested in the post.

Strange ?

No, it is not strange. There are many reasons why something may not work correctly, I just made a guess. Maybe it has something to do with htaccess. i can't tell without seeing your site.

I will check it tomorrow as it is late now.

If it is a plesk related issue I need access to your hosting control panel. I don't have your previous PM because I delete old messages after a few days. Please re-send the access details.
