Title: Easy gallery help? Not so important.
Post by: StefanSultanov on August 02, 2011, 19:32:51
I put up a new site that uses Easy Gallery.
When clicked, the image pops out, but no darkening of the rest of the site occurs.
Easy gallery is perfect for me and I have it running on another site (same hosting) with no problems.

Can anyone help?

Check for javascript conflicts. Try to disable everything that might be using javascript on that page and see if problem is gone.

The site template is "it's elxis"
There is no javascript associated with its files.
the "add this" bot unpublished and didn't do any good.

other javascript that is present in the source:
Quote
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.hyd96.com/includes/js/elxis.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.hyd96.com/mambots/content/easygallery/mootools-1.3.2-full-compat-yc.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.hyd96.com/mambots/content/easygallery/slimbox.js"></script>

I feel, I shouldn't mess with elxis.js - If you advise I'll try to get rid of it.
The other two are clear where they come from.

Please feel free to check it up.

The test article is here:

You may have to switch to russian in order to get it displayed.

One final thing: This issue is NOT present in Internet explorer 9. Firefox and Chrome seem to be needing something else?!?
Please help!
Thank you!

It works for me (Firefox 4.0.1).
Make sure you use the latest version of easy gallery. If needed update to the latest version (1.6) by overwriting old files with the new ones via FTP.

Thanks for your reply.

I use Firefox 5.0, Google Chrome 12.0.742.122 and it doesn't darken the background. I've just updated Chrome and it doesn't work again.
I tried to test this under different elxis templates (okto, eros). It doesn't help, so I guess that the template itself is not the problem.
I have downloaded and installed Easy Gallery Bot today. I don't believe it's outdated, because I use the elxis admin panel to directly download and install my extensions.

It's very odd, because another site with same setup works fine.

Internet Explorer 9 is working fine on both sites.

Oh yes, it does nt darken the background! Is this the problem? I thought that it didn't worked at all. I think you can live without dark background, most probably is due to a css overlap but it is too unimportant to spent more time on this... It is ok even without dark background.

You are loading both mootools AND slibox twice on the same page. In addition, mootools are different (1.3.2 and 1.11).

I can see that now you have mootools AND jquery conflict. Javascript can get tricky....  :(

Unpublish module that's using jquery. They just don't like each other. Just don't use them on the same page.

Thank you very much Ivan. Look!!!! (http://dim-ekv-thess.thess.sch.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=52&Itemid=9)
The eisfifh menu created conflict. There is no need to change the code of slimbox.js, as someone has wrote in this forum.

Now I have published the mod_cu3er and everything works FINE.

A last question, if it is possible, please. Is there any  way to display the mod_cu3er only in front page? Althought is assigned  to home-menu, it is displayed to all...
