Please go to Elxis administration and select from the main menu:
System -> View system information
Select the "PHP information" tab and go down and find the session directives.

Check the value of the session.gc_maxlifetime directive.
This is the life duration (in seconds) of a session. If it is too high then the session takes more time to die when a visitor leaves the site. My advice is a value between 900 and 1200 seconds but this is beyond the support we provide from this forum.

If this setting is ok then we will check other things.

We should sheck some other things then because the value is set 900.

Today (after 15 hours without using elxis site), i had 25 linked visitors (front end)!!  When i logged in the control panel the stats changed to 14. I logged out again and the visitors was 14 (front end)... All thiw happened in one minute...

Something goes wrong here and i don't now what!  My life duration in php (in seconds) is 1440! How can i change this to 900???

Although this is not the full explanation and I agree with you that 14 visitors is way to much for a site that is not known yet to the public, please keep in mind that serch engine bots count also as visitors.

This, in combination with the session time variable setting, can help you unveil the mystery.
