Post by: datahell on May 12, 2010, 22:49:28
eForum component is ready and will be released for free in a few days from EDC.
The component is translated into English and Greek. If you wish to translate it in your language before its release date download the attached English file, translate it in your language, save it as UTF-8 and send it back to me or attach it here in a reply.

You can add it esily after installation of eForum.
Rename your file in bulgarian.xml and copy it in the language directory of eforum (administrator/components/com_eforum/language).

When you try to go to the forum system produces a 404 error.

Make sure the SEO PRO extension (a file named com_eforum.php) is in folder includes/seopro/
If not, get this file administrator/components/com_eforum/includes/seopro.com_eforum.php
and copy in in the includes/seopro/ folder renamed as com_eforum.php

If this file does not exist:
includes/seopro/com_eforum.php

copy this file:
administrator/components/com_eforum/includes/seopro.com_eforum.php
into the includes/seopro/ folder renamed as:

Have you renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess ?
If not, SEO PRO will never work!
Dont enable SEO PRO in Elxis global configuration unless you rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess

I write something else that I forgotten to mention and that is important in order eforum to work with SEO PRO enabled on Elxis 2009.1 or older.

You must use the sef.php file from Elxis 2009.2+ in order to work the SEO PRO extension for eForum.
Normally the sef.php file is updated automatically during eForum install but most probably due to permissions restriction that action may fail.
If that action fail eForum will notify you after install.

To solve the problem do the following:
Take this file: administrator/components/com_eforum/includes/sef.php
and copy it here:
includes/sef.php (replace existing one).
This will work on Elxis 2009.x, I have not tested it on 2008.x, but I guess it will also work.

Post by: datahell on June 07, 2010, 18:45:19
Thank you very much oldman for your translation.

I must notice that your translation has the following problems:
1. It is a broken file as it is saved as ANSI while it should be saved as UTF-8.
2. You have accidentally rename the PHP variables (BOARD to Forum), so many language strings are missing.

I am fixing your file and I will include it in eForum in about an hour.
For the reasons above please dont use oldman's attached file. Download german language for eforum from eforum component in about in hour from EDC.

Download component eForum from EDC (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/downloads/forums/265.html) and get the english language files from that package (they are located inside folder language). Translate them into Romanian with a text editor such as pspad, save the translated files as UTF-8 and when finish send them to me (datahell aT elxis d0t org).

Post by: wbread on December 21, 2010, 20:53:45
hi, it's me again.

I found a bug, why, when replying to a message in the title spelled wrong word.
in
/components/com_eforum/eforum.php

line 883
to correct:
$row->title = eUTF::utf8_substr($eforum->lng->REPLY, 0, 2).': '.$board->topic;

after correction:
$row->title = eUTF::utf8_substr($eforum->lng->RE, 0, 2).': '.$board->topic;

in language file:
public $RE = 'Re:'; - what should be(reply)
(http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/7485/eforumbug.png)

but the script inscribe -  public $BY = 'От';(from)
(http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/4928/eforumbug2.png)
Now everything works as expected ;D

Title: Re: Translators needed for eForum 1.0
Post by: datahell on December 21, 2010, 21:09:51
No, you are wrong.
Function substr (http://php.net/manual/en/function.substr.php) takes the first 2 characters from the translated word "Reply", so it will echo "Re". You dont need to add a new language string for that, and if you do that then you dont need to use substr any more.

Examples to better understand the wrong you did:

substr('Reply', 0, 2)   -> result: "Re"
substr('Regfdgdfgdfgdfgdfgdfgdf', 0, 2)   -> result: "Re"
substr('Απάντηση', 0, 2)   -> result: "Απ"
substr('Ответить', 0, 2)   -> result: "От"

Elxis uses a UTF8 aware replacement for the PHP's native substr function, this is eUTF::utf8_substr.

So:
eUTF::utf8_substr('Reply', 0, 2)   -> result: "Re"
eUTF::utf8_substr('Ответить', 0, 2)   -> result: "От"
etc...

$eforum->lng->REPLY will return "Reply" for English, "Απάντηση" for Greek, "Ответить" for Russian, etc. But the substr function will strip out everything else except from the first 2 characters. So the original code is absolutely correct. Yours is wrong.
Title: Re: Translators needed for eForum 1.0
Post by: wbread on December 21, 2010, 21:24:43
realized
but all the same error was, and now she's gone.

1) then this is for other encodings?
in language file:
public $RE = 'Re:';

2) why the script inscribe -  public $BY = 'От';  ???
(http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/4928/eforumbug2.png)

perhaps there is some sort of a different problem
Title: Re: Translators needed for eForum 1.0
Post by: datahell on December 21, 2010, 21:32:13
Yes, the problem should be different. Maybe your russian.php language file has something wrong or the "$REPLY" is untranslated.
Normally it should work correctly, there is no error in the original code. I have to debug your site to tell you what exactly it is happening.

If you added this in russian.php:
public $RE = 'От';
Then change this:
$row->title = eUTF::utf8_substr($eforum->lng->RE, 0, 2).': '.$board->topic;
to this:
$row->title = $eforum->lng->RE.': '.$board->topic;

And also make sure to add $RE in all other language files you use (english.php, etc).
Title: Re: Translators needed for eForum 1.0
Post by: wbread on December 21, 2010, 21:51:54
 ;D
that's what the problem was

public $REPLY = 'Ответить';

REPLY=Ответить
a translation and the meaning is different
$REPLYTO = 'Ответить';
$POSTREPLY = 'Ответить';

Fixed language file and returned back code

If you added this in russian.php:
public $RE = 'От';
Then change this:
$row->title = eUTF::utf8_substr($eforum->lng->RE, 0, 2).': '.$board->topic;
to this:
$row->title = $eforum->lng->RE.': '.$board->topic;

And also make sure to add $RE in all other language files you use (english.php, etc).

i added public $RE = 'Re'; and $row->title = $eforum->lng->RE.': '.$board->topic; and my site - whit page  ;D
if i comment public $RE = 'Re'; all fine.

public $RE = 'Re';  already exists in file  language   ;D

new language file  - fixed
apologies for the anxiety ;)
