Post by: Dennis on October 12, 2009, 16:02:53
Greetings

I added few components, I can access them all in admin but, I’m wondering where I go to
access the front page of each of them and, how I can add a link to them?

The Components I added is:

create a menu-link in any menu pointing to component

eg.
menus>>mainmenu>>new>>select component>>select Bubbles

When I follow your advice I create a new section in the menu.

Very few will see the messages I want to put out as I want it to be on top of the
page or above the forms or other info already on the page.

1st You need a module position before & above the main body.
2nd Create & publish a module in this position.

almost nothing to do in menus..  most work reside in modules!

header position exist already...

so create a new module(see above)
and assign it to showup at header position...
write in it's text area any text you want...
then select(right of page) the pages that you want the module to appear ...(must have already  link in a menu for those pages in order to appear in this list at module page, actually there are menu-links))

Ps. in other words this module will work as block of text.. if that helps you.

Thank you, it worked.

I made the mistake to choose “left” and it created an menu item.
When I choosed “header”, the text appear as I want it to be on top of page.

In the Newsletter there is a language file I edited but for some reason I
cannot save changes, cannot upload the file or save it in Cpanel.

I don’t need to create a new module as the text is there already.
I want to edit the text to make it fit to my site.

Any idea why I cannot upload or save the file? Can I access the file from admin?

Or if you access apply this:

Change the umask in ‘/etc/proftpd.conf’ from ‘022′ to ‘002′.

Then, update the directory permissions by running the following at the command line:
Code: [Select]
cd /var/www/vhosts/[domain.com]
chown -R [username]:psacln httpdocs
chmod -R g+w httpdocs
find httpdocs -type d -exec chmod g+s {} ;

Add the ‘apache’ user to the ‘psacln’ group by editing ‘/etc/group’.

Code: [Select]
Change
psacln:x:2524:

to
Code: [Select]
psacln:x:2524:apache

For my server I also had to add psaftp, psaadm:
Code: [Select]
psacln:x:2524:apache,psaftp,psaadm

Some PHP settings, sometimes including not being able to write to ‘/var/lib/php/session’. To fix the issues, make some adjustments to the ‘/var/www/vhosts/[domain]/conf/vhost.conf’ for the domain (you may have to create this file):
Code: [Select]
<Directory /var/www/vhosts/[domain]/httpdocs>
php_admin_flag magic_quotes_gpc on
php_admin_flag display_errors on
php_admin_value session.save_path /tmp
</Directory>

If the vhost.conf is brand new, then run:
Code: [Select]
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/websrvmng -av

Make sure Apache runs with your new configuration:
Code: [Select]
# httpd -t (check your work)
# /etc/init.d/httpd reload (service httpd restart on my server)

Done! No more errors on the install screen and no more apache/ftpuser issues with uploading files.

PS: All this is a part from a old notes that I have found, I don't have the link for reference, I had only this note.

Deleting the file worked just fine, thank you. I didn’t think of that easy option!

Then I have another issue!

The IOS Bubbles, it says somewhere I can delete posts but I cannot see either in admin
or as a user with maximum rights, how I can do that with a test post I did yesterday.

Any simple solution?

Another thing, the banner manager.

I like to use two banners, I know how to add these function to work but, how can I control
the banners I want to display in each of the banner section?
