Title: IOS downloads - downloading not completing
Post by: aldim on October 06, 2009, 15:41:48
Hello all,

I 've been using IOS downloads (v 1.0) with success for a long time. Lately I have created a couple of file downloads bigger than 50Mb each. When I try to download these files (firefox3.5) the download never is interrupted in the limit of 12MB. Is there any known issue with IOS Donload, or Elxis ( rev2437 [Pandora])?

Thank you

We have discussed this issue again in this forum. The first version of IOS Downloads did not supported large files. You should use the latest version which supports files of any size. Download from here (http://www.elxis-downloads.com/com_downloads/download-systems/116.html)

Well I do not know if I should post here but never the less!!

I have already v1.0 installed. If I try to install v 1.1, this won't install because the directory belongs to another component.

Which is the preferred way to install the new version? Will we have to create from scratch the already existing download listings?

Thank you for your time...

To install a new version you have to uninstall the previous one.

BUT, if the 2 versions have no differences in database (I think not, but I am not sure, I have to look to tell you this for sure) you can just overwrite the old files with the new ones, without re-installing the component. v1.1 also supports the option a file to be listed in multiple categories.
